Bore sighting handguns

My wife and I jus made our first purchases.

 

Mine, Ruger Sr9

Hers, Ruger Sr22

 

At first time at range two weekends ago I was consistently low and left. I've grown up with guns all my life this is jus my first personal hand gun. I feel I know how too shoot, breath, smooth trigger.

 

I used my bore site and sure as shit the factory sights were off. Bore sight said low and left.

 

I know there are trajectory issues with ballistics, but my groupings were consistent low and left.

 

I adjusted the sights, range report as soon as I can find the time.

Did you use hers? Same grouping?

I think what checker50 is getting at, is that you want to eliminate you as the source for the low-left grouping. Unless you were shooting at 25 yards, it is unlikely that the sights would be off enough to be seen using a bore-sighter. Low left is a classic indication of anticipating recoil and pushing the gun forward and down.

 

Let someone else shoot it to see if they get the same results.

I was thinking the same thing. Bad technique, flintching, pulling etc.

 

With hers I was jus low.

 

I guess I'll now after a hit the range.

This is a chart that is commonly used. The low and left thing is a common GLOCK complaint and is related to trigger control. Any long double action trigger and improper trigger contol can cause these problems.
