Bubba-NJ 0 Posted October 26, 2012 Looking to get a Ruger 10/22 possibly and would love to get a 1911 that shoots the same rounds for target practice . Is it possible ? I'm a total newbie to firearms . I had a Daisey when I was a kid and eventually I trash picked a Crossman that I sold after repairing the pump compression . Jon 264 Posted October 26, 2012 The GSG1911 and Sig 1911-22 both shoot the same ammunition(.22lr) as a Ruger 10/22 rifle.
RecessedFilter 222 Posted October 26, 2012 Yes. The 10/22 shoots .22lr (I believe that's it, I don't think it shoots short or long) and you can buy a .22 1911 pistol, in which you can use the same round (.22lr) for both. There are also quite a few 1911-style .22 pistols on the market. Aside from .22lr, some other rounds that can be used in both rifle and pistol are 9mm, .40sw, .45acp...mostly pistol rounds. alowerlevel 77 Posted October 26, 2012 You could also buy a 1911 in .45 and get a .22 conversion for it.

Sell682 1 Posted December 27, 2012 Also I think the beretta cX would fit the bill unless you consider it a carbine.
tommy3rd 132 Posted December 27, 2012 Also I think the beretta cX would fit the bill unless you consider it a carbine. to add to this, you can also get a 1911 in 9mm along with the cx4
