7.62fmj 0 Posted January 22, 2013 Not sure if this is the right place, but it says laws so... Has anyone heard of the Dick Act of 1902/Efficiency of Militia bill H.R. 11654? It basically divides the armed forces into the three parts: the Army/Corps./Navy/Air Force, the state guard i.e. National Guardsmen, and the unorganized militia i.e. us/we the people. It also says that gun control is unconstitutional and that the militia (all three parts) can buy however many of whatever kind of weapon they can afford. And it apparently can't be repealed. Pieces of it are all over the internet as well as a speech by William Gordon, but it can't be found on any official gov. sights. It is apparently available in hard copy form at the Library of Congress. Yes, there are alot of apparently's and yes I'm aware the internet is not 100% factual. That being said, has anyone heard of this and does anyone know if it is real?

GRIZ 3,369 Posted January 22, 2013 I believe that's codified in 10 USC 311.

7.62fmj 0 Posted January 22, 2013 So 10 USC 311 makes no mention of bans or legislature of any kind from what I can see. Yet if we are all militia, shouldn't we all be training with up to date military hardware? Or at least rear echelon type stuff?

7.62fmj 0 Posted January 26, 2013 So is this something we could take to legislators or mostly just internet hype? I've found tons of info on it, but obviously the internet isn't all factual (irony realized). Anybody know "people" that could confirm it?

So the premise here is that somewhere, written in black and white ink, that there is a law stating all able bodied men 18-45 yrs of age are still legitimite Militia? And thus entitled to certain firearms? Sounds too good to be true, the Holy Grail for gun owners of sorts. Surely over the yrs some crack legal eagle, legislater, or human rights research anylist would have run with it if there was any solid merit to it, right? It just doesn't seem possible to not have been taken SCOTUS by now. Most likely the dis-organized militia got de-organized or swallowed up in some remote re-org by an un-known legal decree during a low profile meeting. Also was prob just anymously dis-banded due to lack of required drills, training interest etc. But I certainly look forward to being proven wrong! matty 810 Posted January 26, 2013 Yyyyyyeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhh, another Internet trope gone wild---- Not that it will matter to those who want to believe, but there's a discussion on this over at an excellent 2A law blog--- http://armsandthelaw.com/
ruger9 0 Posted January 26, 2013 I found out about this a couple days ago, but have been waiting for someone knowledgable for more info... I'd love to hear what Mark Levin or Judge Napolitano (both constitutional attorneys) have to say about it.
