Njgunowner 2 Posted January 24, 2013 Bought this a couple of weeks ago I guess. Neat rifle, easy to clean and disassemble, looks well built. Waiting for the weather to get a little nicer before I take it out. Has a nice feel to it. I need to find a decent optics set so I can try out those 200m shots (the orange thing is a barrel block that came with it)

Njgunowner 2 Posted January 24, 2013 Hehe, some ranges require the silly things so might as well hold on to it.
9X19 125 Posted January 24, 2013 true. I think EFG has that rule

71ragtopgoat 23 Posted January 24, 2013 One of my favorite weapons. I dont have one as I'm a cheap SOB but if I was not one would be in my safe for sure. Enjoy it
Arbelest 29 Posted January 24, 2013 Looks very nice its on my list once the market calms down a lot.

Waiting for the weather to get a little nicer before I take it out. Has a nice feel to it. I need to find a decent optics set so I can try out those 200m shots I put a Leatherwood CMR1-4x on mine. 1x works good for close up 2 eyes open shooting. For me, the 4x does the job at longer ranges.
Njgunowner 2 Posted January 24, 2013 That leatherwood doesn't look bad, hows the clarity?
Turbotezza 1 Posted January 24, 2013 Actually, it is used to show that the gun is unchambered. Useful at the range. Pretty much, unless you like to collect them
NJCK 5 Posted January 25, 2013 556s are very nice rifles! I've shot a few, including a 556R, and very accurate. Enjoy it! Hope you can afford to feed it in these times!
PeteF 1,044 Posted January 25, 2013 That leatherwood doesn't look bad, hows the clarity? I am by no means an optics guru. The glass is very clear with no distortion that I can see. Do a search on you tube. There are some decent reviews by people that know a lot more about optics than I do.

PeteF 1,044 Posted January 25, 2013 I've got about 600 rds so I'm ok for a while If you reload, be aware that the 556 throws brass around 20-30 feet to the front right of where you are shooting from. Makes brass collection difficult.
Njgunowner 2 Posted January 26, 2013 Not a reloader... yet. I've considered it, but not a high priority right now.
mp123 0 Posted January 27, 2013 Was gong to get one. Got a Stag model 8 instead. Good luck with it.
Njgunowner 2 Posted January 28, 2013 I came really close to a Stag Model 3, they're nice rifles.
BCeagle 12 Posted January 28, 2013 Odd timing, my uncle just asked me to sell his for him and wanted $1000. I said I would take it, I think he thought I was going to offer it to my friends.
Njgunowner 2 Posted January 28, 2013 Yep, I'd have taken that deal too
bobblahblah 0 Posted February 8, 2013 Nice gun. I used to have a 556, and that thing was awesome! I put a lot of rounds through it and NEVER had any malfunctions. I sold it only because I got bored with it and wanted to build an AR.
