Jm2766 0 Posted March 14, 2013 I am interested in getting into trap shooting. Is there any intro to trap courses around?

RobertJames 14 Posted March 14, 2013 Keep an eye in the events and meetup section. There's been an informal shotgun shoot in Clinton nearly every month.
M4BGRINGO 139 Posted March 14, 2013 I shoot Trap at Citizens in West Windsor and Mallard in Jamesburg. Both places are very friendly with some really good shooters mixed-in with the rest of us!
Agent_Smith 1 Posted May 30, 2013 If it's not too far for you, Thunder Mountain is a good range for beginners. They let you borrow a shotgun, and a "guide" helps you on the trap field, regardless of your level. You can go with friends, but a lot of folks go on their own. Are you new to shotguns or just the game of trap?

thegerb50 0 Posted May 30, 2013 Don't quote me but I believe the Sunday morning sessions at OBRPC are open to the public. Non members just pay more (20 instead of 10)
mikeyjones 88 Posted May 30, 2013 Not sure where you're located since im on mobile but North Jersey Trap club in Fairfield has instructors that will give private lessons.
FishHunter 0 Posted November 7, 2013 You can try trap at OBRPC. You will have to pay for the shells and the guys will give you a gun to use as well. Look for the monthly shotgun meet on their website. I tried it for the first time last month and can't wait to do it again
Sell682 1 Posted November 7, 2013 North Jersey Trap club in Fairfield is where I go. Instructors are available but you need to schedule. People are nice but be honest on your abilities so they dont put you with a group of experts and your shooting from the 27 yrd mark. Also best to go in the afternoons on weekends as the mornings are usually competitive groups who expect you to know what your doing . Once you get going though it's a great atmosphere and you learn a lot from your peers.

Mallard and many other clubs will be happy to get you shooting. ClayTargetsOnline.com will show you where and what they're shooting and how much. As for instruction, start with YouTube, then go to a club and tell them it's your first time shooting Trap. Anywhere will be happy to go over the basics of the game for you.
