GRIZ 3,369 Posted March 30, 2013 When I was in basic we were told (by Drill Corporal Kelly IIRC) that if our bayonet should stick in our target to fire a round and let the recoil help pull it out. I asked "if I've got ammo in my rifle why am I using a bayonet?". I paid for that question. I did go on to redeem myself by splitting two M14 stocks during bayonet training and winning the company pugil stick competition.
