any benchrest shooters shooting at Cherry Ridge?

Recommended Posts

I've been out twice with my Special Grade M1 and Mosin M44. I'm getting pretty bad groups, even with commercial ammo. I usually shoot scoped rifles, so I'm not sure if it's the rifles or my poor skill with iron sights. It wouldn't surprise me if the Mosin is inherently inaccurate, but I would expect the M1 to shoot accurately.

So, if any sharpshooters are planning to be at CR any time soon, could I meet you there and have you shoot the rifles? At least that will take my questionable skills out of the equation, and maybe I can learn a thing or two.

Try shooting off a bag, or prone off a mat. I often find shooting benches to be wobbly and contribute to poor accuracy. A sling helps a lot too. I just have mine set up as a hasty sling. I don't use the formal setup.

I live minutes from CR and I'm a tramp there.

Give me a shout and I'll give you a hand squaring it away.
