malice95 3 Posted April 24, 2013 I am getting a Sig 716 (.308) rifle.. 5/8 24 tpi barrel. I'm asking the FFL to remove the stock break and install a replacement. Ideally I want something to reduce felt recoil as much as possible. I've been looking at a bunch of them but its tough to come up with a winner.. PWS (FSC30) seems to make good ones based on reviews. I was also looking at the JP Tactical Compensator Black .308 cal Bull Barrel one. What do you guys think? Looking for your experience as this is a one time purchase. I cant replace it once welded. PK90 3,573 Posted April 24, 2013 The large JP is HUGE. Go with the smaller one.
henrym 19 Posted April 24, 2013 Check out the surefire product as well. They are really nice, albeit expensive. i have installed a few and they are high quality. http://www.surefire.com/sfmb-762-5-8-24.html
checko 180 Posted April 24, 2013 Mikulek Comp Inexpensive and my muzzle flip is nonexistant, even with double taps on the ar. I assume .308 would be similar http://www.dpmsinc.com/308-Miculek-Compensator_p_571.html
HavocMan 13 Posted April 24, 2013 All of the comps suggested so far are good products, but they do not direct blast away from the shooter or from other shooters to your left or right. In fact, they direct blast right at folks to the left and right. Look into the stuff from Battlecomp. I have a few. They work.
locochinoloco 0 Posted April 24, 2013 I have both the BattleComp 1.5 and FSC556 for the 5.56 ... and they both received great reviews. IMO, with high quality products, unless you can really sit there and swap the comps on the same rifle, it's hard to tell the difference from a bench perspective. Shawnmoore81 623 Posted April 25, 2013 I have a Troy medieval on mine. No complaints except for how loud it is. But that seems to be with all brakes
bry@n 195 Posted April 29, 2013 I have both battlecomp 2.0 and the surefire socom. Both are nice. Battlecomp if you will be shooting indoors.
