Spartiati 63 Posted May 30, 2013 Four months and counting for Scotch Plains which has always been at most 5 weeks. Called 4 weeks ago and they said they got the paper work back from Trenton. So they have basically been sitting on the firearms detective's desk now for 4 weeks. I am at my boiling point...
Maksim 1,504 Posted May 30, 2013 I think it only works if your buying them from the same place. NO NO NO NO NO. You are incorrect. Where does it say it is only from the same place? You can buy from multiple places. Read the forms. One form is for you, that lists every gun from every person. The second form, is one for each seller. nitrospaz9 10 Posted May 30, 2013 My mistake. Just took a guess at it. Seems odd that you could buy them from different places.
Maksim 1,504 Posted May 31, 2013 My mistake. Just took a guess at it. Seems odd that you could buy them from different places. Why? Exemption can be for any seller. You cannot be forced to buy them all from one dealer. Think of it, if you are asking for an exemption as a collector of firearms, what are the odds that all your guns are from one dealer? Isn't there already a writeup about Exemptions?

mrejda 1 Posted May 31, 2013 You have to wait the full 30 days to submit nics. Quite a few folks getting in trouble with this as I found out speaking to an FFL. Thanks, even though the other thread had a ton of discussion, I don't think this was covered. Most people were doing it the other way around.
rlsbee 1 Posted May 31, 2013 Waiting on a single P2P. I'm on week 7 and my PD is usually much faster.

Maksim 1,504 Posted May 31, 2013 It was actually a few.... We have a vendor only section here on the forum when this was discussed and then confirmed when I spoke with another. Not going to disclose it here , but if you want to pm me, we can chat. All I know is that the state police does keep track of 30 and does do the match. I do not know how they fix it or what they do about it.
