World Class Steel @ OBRPC - Sunday 11/3/13

Recommended Posts

Are you guys doing the scores for yesterdays knockdown match? If so, youll probably finish scoring it before last weeks match, in which case perhaps you can email a copy to the two Johns who run World Class steel at ob with a nice little note (eg "this is how you get scores done, old man!" )

I actually dont mind that that was their last match of the year, as I've decided not to shoot that match anymore. It's bad enough that they're taking forever to do something that should take a couple of hours to so, but they wont even reply to folks asking for an eta/et completion. That's just bad form, and I dont need to support a match that that's inconsiderate, especially as there are more than enough matches around to shoot.

Jet -- It's just for fun --  no prizes --  You're the only one you'll hurt by not shooting -- Miss a fun day with good people

If your score matters that much to you why don't you take a picture of your sheet at the end of the day and figure it out yourself --  lots of guys do this

Hey Jeremy. I hear what youre saying. Im just the kind of guy who, if I don't see myself improving, I lose interest, so finding out whether I'm bridging the gap with other folks is important to me. Indeed, if I reach the point that Im not getting better, I'll switch to something else where I have space to grow and get better.

I'll have fun shooting the other two steel matches as well, but I'll also find out about my times as soon as in other matches, so I'll probably do that unless the guys who run this steel match start being more responsive like all the other MDs

I emailed John P 20 minutes ago and offered to do the scores if he mailed them to me, as the November 3 scores still weren't up as of 21 minutes ago.

Perfect timing I guess, as the November 3 scores are up as of right now, in case some of you wanted to check them out:

Awesome. You smoked every stage over the past two matches.

Why don't you shoot pistol and give Al and Jimmy a run for their money? Your pistol times should be even faster, as you won't have to deal with a DA trigger for every shot.

Nahhh,  Revolver is my gig and i'm sticking with it ( cough glocks are boring )

plus, it's much more gratifying beating all you bottom feeders with a * antiquated useless paper weight *

Gotcha.

BTW, have you guys thought about getting classified in steel? It's only around $10 more per year to join SCSA if you're already a USPSA member.

i'm a member, i've been subbmitting my scores, though for the last 2 or 3 matches I forgot

How do you do that? I joined SCSA a few months ago and write my SCSA # on the forms, but I don't have any scores on the steelchallenge.com website.

Also, which gets counted for SCSA classification purposes? World Class Steel or Read Deal Steel scores?

Thanks.

currently, only real deal steel is submitting scores.... IF you fill out the separate classifier sheet after the match with the classifier stage scores, pay the dollar to submit it, and give the forms to either me , or dave z.

RDS is running one or two classifier stages per match, these are the official stages .... round about, pendulam, 5 to go, smoke and hope, etc etc...

Ah ok. I totally wasn't even aware of the additional paperwork -- that explains it.

Interesting.  I was thinking that World Class Steel would be the one submitting scores, since I thought they only ran official SCSA stages.

Is it possible to have my scores from the previous matches submitted?  I can submit the paperwork to you/Dave via email and mail over a check.

Thanks.

That would be totally up to Dave, he is the man in charge as far as that goes.

Additionally, you need to submit the time for each run, not just your total stage time.

    • So, as I interpret things, you get a hit on #1. It says nothing about feeding from said magazine, just that the magazine attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip. And it is attached. Was this what was considered when it was written? 100% no. However, this is NJ and I don't think they would give you an inch when as written it covers it in plain english.  #2 would be a hard yes if you put a threaded barrel on your setup, so I'd not do that.  #3... well it's not a shroud, but it does allow you to hold the firearm with the nontrigger hand without being burned. Shroud is ill defined, and it could be argued to partially enshroud the barrel from the bottom. I would bet cash money that the AG would gladly say that second part there is to clarify the intent of the law and that since you can do that, you violated the stated intent of the law.
    • I don't know why we ( NJ gun organizations ) have not yet filed a lawsuit on "duty to inform"  A clear violation of the constitution 5th and probably 4th.  Maybe this guys lawyer will and get that charge dropped.  what other right do you need to inform a law enforcement officer of.    are you required to identify as a republican or democrat during an encounter, and by the way,  what constitutes an encounter.  voluntary? involuntary?   time to get this one knocked down. come on ANJRPC stop waiting for court decisions and go on the attack.
    • Right, each location will have a different set of Repeater frequencies you can use in your area.  You could also just have 2 sets of CHIRP files ready to go and make sure you have the ability to program them quickly in a SHTF situation.  Maybe dedicate at least one radio for each location with specific programming, and then when you get there you can re-program the radios you take with you with the programming specific to that location.   More expensive radios have the ability to program them via your phone app and BT connection.
