MP 15 22 buffer tube

Recommended Posts

I've wanted a mp15 22 for a while now. But ever since I found out that the buffer tube is molded to the lower' I have been hestaint. What happens the buffer breaks? The whole rifle is crap now. Unlike is you break a buffer tube on a mp15. Is there is a reason concern?

Maybe won't the price drops under 400

If the tube were to break the gun still works. The tube is not actually a receiver extension, the bolt carrier does not need to go into it.

If it broke off you'd have to figure out a way to reattach it but I don't really think it's something to worry about unless you're using it as a baseball bat though.

Big five - just to be clear, the S&W M&P 15-22 rifle does not use the

buffer like a M&P 15 (or any other center fire rifle).

The .22 cal version does not have a buffer, and as such - the buffer tube is simply

part of the stock. It is hollow, and there is no spring or buffer inside).

As stated by others, they are pretty strong, and even though anything can be broken

I have not heard of a tube breaking that I can remember.............
