Decent holster for M9A1

Recommended Posts

I can't find a great holster for my Beretta M9A1.  I've bought two over the years, a Safariland 5187 and most recently a Galco Combat Master CM202B.

In both cases, they are so tight that it's hard to get the gun out, and hard to put the gun in.  I've tried softening the leather, storing the gun in the holster for months, etc. and I'm not happy.

The problem is that most holsters are made for the 92FS, etc, and don't correctly fit the rail on the M9A1.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Would the Safariland 6390 fit correctly?

I guess I'm mostly hoping that someone here has an M9 and has a holster they love and use for competition, etc.

I picked this one up to use for competition, although I haven't used it for that purpose yet, but trying it out at home it seems to work pretty well.  There are two screws that you use to adjust the tension.

I got so sick of searching for the right holster for my a1 that I finally took a dremmel to a level III light bearing serpa and got exactly what I wanted. I hated the bulkiness of both level II and III serpas, but I love their cqb line, so I made my own.

Zack,

Uncle Mike's website says size 20 fits most Beretta 92's and 96's. Is this the size you bought?

Yes, size 20 is what I got.  You have to loosen those screws up quite a bit from the way it ships, but like I said it worked pretty well here at home.  Obviously, or maybe not, I didn't have any lights or anything attached to the rail while trying the holster.

What a great idea! I had to cut my px4 holster down because i have the compact and cqc model. I can use the non light bearing model too.
