dtown223 12 Posted June 9, 2014 So I couldn't resist ordering a new beretta CX4 storm at buds low low prices. now I'm thinking.. I have absolutely no use for this thing, other than it's cool looking, and could probably use some $$ for other, more practical things (like optics, possibly training) So how long would you feel comfortable selling a new rifle after buying it? bry@n 195 Posted June 9, 2014 1 day. If you out a round down the pipe and decide it's not for you.
diamondd817 827 Posted June 9, 2014 What caliber? PX4 mags or 92 mags?
dtown223 12 Posted June 9, 2014 it's a 9mm w 2 92 mags, loader case. the while shebang. it's still sitting at my FFL unclaimed.
Polak 3 Posted June 9, 2014 If it's at the FFL not transferred, how can that be a straw purchase?
dtown223 12 Posted June 9, 2014 I was figuring it'd be less attractive to a buyer of they had to go to an FFL and pay an extra 40$ for transfer & NICS then again, I'm also thinking GB is the way to go, to avoid any possible "red fiag"
Babyface Finster 45 Posted June 9, 2014 You're over thinking this. A straw purchase occurs when someone buys a gun to sell/give to someone who cannot legally take possession of one. As long as your buyer has all paperwork in order you are fine.

bry@n 195 Posted June 9, 2014 Dave, If it's at the ffl, I don't see how it can be a straw purchase. I'm pretty sure it's considered when you take possession of the gun.
dtown223 12 Posted June 9, 2014 yeah, I was thinking taking possession would make the sale easier, since most of my transactions I've met the other party halfway.
Scorpio64 5,156 Posted June 9, 2014 If it's still at the FFL, unopened, you can refuse to accept it, have it shipped back and take your losses.
dtown223 12 Posted June 9, 2014 If it's still at the FFL, unopened, you can refuse to accept it, have it shipped back and take your losses. That's something I haven't considered.Have to weigh shipping/restocking fees vs potential sale price.. thanks-good input
vjf915 456 Posted June 9, 2014 You're over thinking this. A straw purchase occurs when someone buys a gun to sell/give to someone who cannot legally take possession of one. As long as your buyer has all paperwork in order you are fine. This is the important part. You could line up a buyer, pick up the rifle from the FFL, and transport it directly to the buyers house. As long as they can legally purchase the rifle, it's not a straw purchase.

dtown223 12 Posted June 9, 2014 seems fair to turn this into a WTS advert http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/classifieds/item/2897-beretta-cx4-storm-9mm/
