The ammo upgrade is the best news here. It will make the biggest difference in accuracy for our troops.

The updates to the M4/M16 are nice as well.

 

Actually, when I read the title of this thread, I had my little digits crossed hoping this was the announcement for the SCAR17 to replace the M4

So basically - new ammo (TN556TNB1/MK318/AB49 62gr OTM), Free floating barrels, Match Triggers, Ambi Charging handles, Compensators, and a new optic... The future!  Oh wait - this is all shit we can get right now..

So ... they want 3gun rifles. Well, who doesn't. 

 

The trigger thing is a bit odd though because there are already match triggers which have been validated for military use in the SPR and Mk11 (etc) guns.

Makes me wonder if compensators will be reclassified and banned in NJ.  Up to now only the birdcage and three prong were officially banned along with others that won't pass the arbitrary  "pinky test".

This rifle, more or less, has existed for soem time.  It's the MArine SAM-R, more or less.  I'm assuming this will still be a 20" barrel.
