Bass Pro - Indoor Range?

Recommended Posts

If you buy enough ammo to last you an hour it will almost certainly surpass $50. Then parking is free. BPS ammo prices are fair, not the best. I have gone to the Concord, NC many times and even to Springfield, MO. BPS are always clean and friendly place in my experience. I have also gone to "The Walk" in AC many times with the wife for school shopping etc.. Not sure how close BPS is to the Walk but it sounds like a decent way to keep everyone happy. Nothing better for my nerves than sending a few hundred rounds down range.

Got a P2P? grab a new toy and try it at the range :D

HAHA that was the only option I thought of, but sadly I don't. Only other thing is to call em tomorrow and ask if they have any storage for handguns I would think...

I ran into your dad yesterday at Ramsey Outdoor. We were talking about the Mt. Bethal show on Sunday. He told me about the dance competition in AC, I told him to check out Bass Pro while he was there lol.

Just a thought, you might find someone willing to loan you a pistol at the range (if they permit this, ie persons not in the same group). Never hurts to ask, some are anal about letting others try a new toy but you might find someone willing to if you cover ammo costs...I know it's not the same as bringing your own but worth a shot.

I emailed BP and asked about rentals, they were looking into it but at the moment rentals are a no go :( Now if they offered rentals I love to burn up a few mags in a VP9 :D

Very nice! I figured checking out the store while we were there would kill an hour or so, and they do free crafts for kids during the week. Need some activities to kill some downtime. A full week in AC for the third year in a row we're running out of things to do down there.

VP9 would have been my choice also!

Didn't want to start a separate thread but I was just checking out their website and noticed they offer free workshops, classes and kids crafts. That'll help pass some more time while there. Pretty cool and nice to see big retailers doing some things like that. Lowes offers similar craft/projects once a month for kids and other adult workshops like this so glad to see BPS does it too.

We visited yesterday for about 1.5/2hrs. Boats, ATVs, Camo, Guns galore! Kids also got to do a craft coloring turtle sun catchers. Really nice place! I took a few photos for those that haven't seen it yet. I actually didn't see any gun range, although I didn't go out of my way to look for it either since I couldn't shoot. Looking around upstairs by the firearms I didn't see anything posted as a range only a couple "Employee Only" doors. So who knows.

I love me some redneck glassware!

All the ammo/firearms/archery/hunting/etc is upstairs on one side.

All the camo is on the other side.

Gun range is actually at the very corner upstairs near the Crossbow section. I live 20mins from AC, I used to go there every week lol.

I figured it would be around that area, just didn't see any signs indicating where it was. I only saw a couple doors that said employees only between the guns on the right and the archery on the left.

Range is Still not open...they made errors in construction with the some things in the ceiling & hvac and have still not passed the necessary inspections needed to open it ..could still be another couple months

4 lanes, returns, nothing special...

I wouldn't go out of my way to go shoot there but good time killer if the woman wants to shop, or nice to be able to buy something and shoot it right away.

Do you guys honestly believe that there will not be a several hour wait just to use the stupid 4 port range? I doubt they will let you roam their store with a range bag or a backpack slung over your shoulder. Security will be pretty extreme in an AC based business like that. You sure will not want to leave your stuff locked up in the trunk of your car. Will they provide lockers? Doubt they will be free if they did...

On a weekend, wait..possible in season..store was empty a week before Christmas.

I'm sure you will have to check your guns & colors at the door just like every other place in AC.

Didn't see lockers but there would be room for a couple..

Not many auto break ins around tht area of the city..I highly doubt any 'city thugs' your thinking of will be looking to walk in front of how ever many cameras in the most populated area of the city and start looking into the back windows of the lifted F250 with the 'don't tread on me' sticker..jus sayin..

    • I took down a deck that was attached to the house with a ledger board.  That area now needs to be re-sided.   Its a tough predicament because its such a small job, its only like 24 inches high by about 12 feet wide.  After 3 phone calls last fall i actualy got the guy who built the house to come by, he said "sure, i can do it when i get some down time".   I havent heard from him since. i get it.  its a small job.  I'm a pretty handy guy and out of desperation i could probably watch youtube videos and figure out how to patch this by myself but i think id get lost on trying to match the color and i only need a small amount of material i'd have no idea where to buy a small amount.  So i'm gonna try here if anybody knows a vinyl siding company who wouldnt mind doing what i suppose would be a 30 minute job.  I am fully aware that i would need to have his fee make it worth while for the project even though its such a small patch job.
    • Thanks for the offer @High Exposure and hope you’re doing well.  I’ll be back in just under 2 weeks and we can all work something out.
    • I bought the stainless Rossi lever carbine in .357 a few years ago, to match a bush rifle caliber to my revolvers. I'm pretty sure I paid under $400 at the time. Shoots sweet, reliable, more than accurate enough. When I was shopping for it I kept running into comments on gun forums (not this one, iirc) criticiziing the action compared to the Henrys, but I've never shot a Henry lever gun, and I guess I'm too dumb to notice any issues.
    • Interesting discussion. I have plenty of large, tall trees that I could affix antennae elements to . But then I'd be at the mercy of wind and lightning. Of course, a falling tree could easily take out an adjacent tower as well :-) My biggest mental obstacle with installing a tower is how to get all the pieces up the slope to the install point. A new tower is no doubt a pretty big expense, but I see them on FB Marketplace regularly for fairly cheap, provided the buyer takes the thing down.
    • Nice grab Stu! Beat me to it. @Mr.Stu And @DirtyDigz - Rumson is the next town over from me (maybe a 5 minute drive). I can be a middle-man and grab it if you can’t find a time that works for you guys and @Rob0115.
