Emtnfirefighter 0 Posted October 26, 2015 Lower and upper done without any issues. I need a buffer tube kit to use with this fixed stock: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BYUT83K/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1O70GX629EOZE&coliid=I578SAQ0RP1P6 Can someone recommend a decent one at a decent price... Want to make sure they are compatable. Pleas post a link if you can. Thanks.
PK90 3,573 Posted October 26, 2015 According to that part number, you need the commercial receiver extension. Do you also need the buffer and spring? HERE is the complete kit.
Emtnfirefighter 0 Posted October 26, 2015 Yes. Need buffer and spring
Emtnfirefighter 0 Posted October 26, 2015 The link you provided is a 6 position tube will that still work? As I need it to be fixed
T Bill 649 Posted October 26, 2015 Magpul fixed carbine stock will fit any carbine buffer tube. Now just make sure the buffer tube and stock are both either commercial or mil-spec. Your choice. Difference is in the diameter of the tube. Commercial is made 6061 aluminum, mil-spec made from 7071.

I have found most milspec extensions, regardless of material, have rolled threads though.
DanMarvel 9 Posted October 26, 2015 Would the Magpul Fixed Carbine stock still require to be pinned since the buffer tube will have the six position? The Fixed Rifle stock wont have the castle nut which I think would be ok without pinning is that correct: https://www.magpul.com/products/moe-rifle-stock
T Bill 649 Posted October 26, 2015 Not always. Lots of milspec extensions are 6061. I have found most milspec extensions, regardless of material, have rolled threads though. I appreciate the info. Thanks. Would the Magpul Fixed Carbine stock still require to be pinned since the buffer tube will have the six position? The Fixed Rifle stock wont have the castle nut which I think would be ok without pinning is that correct: https://www.magpul.com/products/moe-rifle-stock No. Stock is fixed not collapsible. Rifle stock uses different buffer tube, spring, and buffer that do not interchange with carbine stock, buffer, spring, or buffer tube. Rifle stock does not require pinning. Only stocks that can collapse require pinning.

PK90 3,573 Posted October 26, 2015 You ordered both from Primary Arms, right? As your first post was a commercial stock.
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted October 26, 2015 I think he used the first post as a reference for what he wanted to buy. I linked a mil-spec stock and buffer so he should be good since he ordered both

Emtnfirefighter 0 Posted October 27, 2015 Yes, need a muzzle break like the look/style of this one. Just using Amazon an example of the look. http://www.amazon.com/Thread-Steel-Fishbone-Muzzle-Device/dp/B011B6UBD2/ref=sr_1_11?s=sports-and-fitness&ie=UTF8&qid=1445975390&sr=1-11&keywords=muzzle+brake
T Bill 649 Posted October 27, 2015 The Truth about Guns website (google TTAG) did a review of 29 different brakes as a part 2 report earlier this year (April, I believe). Part One was around November 2014 and had about 35 different ones. New brakes come out every month, you need to really research what you expect of your brake and your budget. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2015/04/jeremy-s/ar-15-muzzle-brake-shootout-2/
