MartyZ 696 Posted November 3, 2015 It's back for 2015 - FIREARM RISK PROTECTION ACT They want us to buy liability insurance again, and will probably continue to try to push this crap through. I'm wondering if now the paper targets can sue us https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/2546
tattooo 220 Posted November 3, 2015 They will NEVER stop trying to find ways to screw us law abiding citizens
maintenanceguy 510 Posted November 3, 2015 Like all liberal plans, this will have the opposite of it's stated intent. As soon as gun owners are required to have insurance, the NRA will offer free insurance with a $35 membership. This increases the NRA's membership from 5 million to 100 million people. Not only is that more revenue for the fight, it's 95 million gun owners who haven't cared enough to be involved who will at least start receiving emails keeping them informed of the issues. pjd832 146 Posted November 3, 2015 Better idea would be make criminals carry an insurance policy for victim compensation as opposed to law abiding citizens/gun owners that jump through all the bs hoops we do now ...not one more inch!
tattooo 220 Posted November 3, 2015 That is a much better idea
fumanchu182 23 Posted November 3, 2015 Lovely pile of crap right there in the legislature. Remember today is Nov, 3rd. Get out and vote.
Old Glock guy 1,127 Posted November 3, 2015 I've seen that, and I'm sure it's going nowhere in the House. But better believe that it could become reality in NJ when we get a Democratic governor in a couple of years. The Dems are going to shove their anti-gun wishlist through the legislature and up our you-know-whats.
T Bill 649 Posted November 3, 2015 Two chances of passing at the federal level. NONE and NONE AT ALL; Statewide, coming to a gun shop near you in 2017.
jackandjill 683 Posted November 3, 2015 I USED to think and weigh individual candidates regardless of party affiliation. NO MORE. I am tired of one party willfully, repeatedly, and maliciously going after law abiding firearm owners.
HBecwithFn7 296 Posted November 3, 2015 The bill was introduced in May, 2015. It's last action was June, 2015. I'd tend to believe it's pretty much "dead in committee."

Quite opposite.... "(1) provides liability insurance covering the purchaser specifically for losses resulting from use of the firearm while it is owned by the purchaser, and " They want YOU to carry insurance so the Criminals can sue you for their "losses". That's nuts..... Kick in door of John Q. Public that legally owns a firearm.... Who then Uses firearm in defense of self and family and Toby dindo nuffin gets payout from some mandated insurance policy for firearm owners?!? Wtf is wrong with people that think this logical? So all the animals in Camden/Trenton/add any of the thousand other cesspool cities going to have to carry the same policy for their illegal guns? So all the animals in Camden/Trenton/add any of the thousand other cesspool cities going to have to carry the same policy for their illegal guns? Yep, you got that right. And proposed penalty for not getting insurance is "no more than $10,000". Such a generous gesture. But again, guess who pays taxes, keeps money in the bank and will be butt naked without job ? Law abiding citizens like you and me. Baby G's over in Camden and such dont even have to worry about 10K penalty. In fact, in the eyes of Uncle Sam (and President Obama) they are poor bastards that rest of us are supposed to take care and pay for health insurance and such. This is couple of years old, but this is where our Politicians get their ideas..... ... "....The burglary suspect is suing him for returning fire. The Marin Independent Journal reported the suspect alleges that Jay Leone, who is 90-years-old, negligently shot the intruder...." http://www.cbsnews.com/news/burglar-sues-calif-homeowner-90-who-returned-fire/
