  1. Is there anyway you can get pics? I'm curious to see the knife's construction so I can envision how to disassemble and repair. In my head it's a simple fix... get someone to replace the locking liner.... however the problem comes in it's assembly. If it's assembled by pins that are epoxied in place it'll be a much tougher job than a knife that's assembled with screws, etc. Someone will have to most likely drill the pins out. Make a new locking liner. Fit and reassemble. Install/glue new pins. Sand pins flush with bolsters, etc.
  2. Nice! Might have to take the trip over there!
  3. Just hopping back in here. A year ago (actually 1 year 2 months ago) I got an Ego setup. Long story short... I just didn't get the fulfillment from the Ego setup. Moved over to a Innokin VTR last month... FAR better. Longer life, better vapor, better taste. (Using iClear30s's and Aerotanks for now.) While the VTR is great, built like a tank and has oodles of battery life, plus it's easy to replace... it's just a tad too big for carrying around all day (it weighs something like 14 ounces.). So... I just took the plunge and pre-ordered a VaporShark DNA30 (Black with micro USb, not magnetic charger). I was thinking mech mod... but I really like the control of the variables. And the VS will still let me get into rebuilding, etc. (I'll put up pics when it gets here... they're saying the USB versions should ship 2/27.) Now to figure out what RBA to buy... my local B&M (Good Karma in Fair Lawn) has Kayfuns and Cobra (clones) for decent prices... or do I get the Russian 91%... decisions, decisions.... hahaha! FYI... GoodKarma has some great juices... all made in-house. My all-day vape right now is their Magilla-Vanilla (banana vanilla.)
  4. I dig that Fortis rail. That's a nice build!
  5. Dinosaurs is awesome! Nice portions, great BBQ, decent prices, good beers. The food at Hill Country was great... but talk about sticker shock. Their brisket was killer. BUT... for the same amount of food as I would have gotten at Dinosaurs I paid twice the price. (Eh... location, location, location, right?)
  6. Olight M22. 950+ lumens. 300 yard illumination on high. Tape switch accessory available. I love my M22. Run it with 2 CR123s or 1 18650 rechargeable. My $0.02: Surefires are far brighter than their published lumen numbers. The TIR lens plays a big role in their output/beam shape. However... they are overpriced. For a long time no one could match their quality, and at that time I gladly paid the money for a basically indestructible bright flashlight. NOW... other companies are upping their game with regards to quality and their prices keep dropping. They still make great flashlights, but I find fewer reasons to buy one.
  7. The nightmare grind is sick! I've been lusting after one for a while. Nice score!
  8. Thanks for that comparison pic!
  9. The P30 is actually closer to the HK45c than it is to its full size sibling. (Full disclosure: My only frame of reference is the fact that my HK45c rides in a P30 holster. Fits like a glove. Well... that and I verified my "very scientific" size comparison by checking out the printed specs on the HK website. :-D) If we ever cross paths at the range, I will gladly let you shoot the 45c.

    Ruger SR556-ESC

If that's the worst complaint out there... then just go buy a heavier stock (ike a UBR) to balance it out. Problem solved.
  11. If you have smaller hands... the HK45c should work well for you. I love my HK45c. IMHO it's one of the softer shooting compact 45s out there. Even my girlfriend has no issues with the size and she has smaller hands than I do. Come to the dark side.
  12. Larue makes a Storm/Hardigg (Pelican) case with a soft case that fits inside. It's not cheap... but it's great. Hard case for transport and soft case when I'm where I'm going.
  13. Just finished up a case each of PPU .45 and 5.56. Not a single issue and the PPU .45 shot cleaner than similar Rem .45.

Just something to think about.... is this to replace rails on a already built AR or a new build? who's doing the install? Do you have a pinned/welded muzzle device on there already? Some of these rails use proprietary barrel nuts which will require replacement of the stock barrel nut. That doesn't sound difficult... and shouldn't be... unless you have difficultly removing your gas block/front sight... or if you have a pinned/welded muzzle device... or... you get the idea. I know for sure that the Centurion and the Fortis rails both use the stock barrel nut. (There are others out there that do too... Midwest, Troy, DD, etc.)
  15. That's a nice looking stick! You made the right choice with the 16". I'm with you though... replace the stock (Magpul PRS or UBR maybe?), mount up some glass and let 'er rip! Give us the usual rundown and I'm sure enough of us here will have an opinion to give you : What are you planning on shooting? How far away? And what's your budget?
  16. Just think of it as karma telling you to buy some new bling for your 10/22! (KIDD, or Volquartsen extractor, perhaps?)

I do like my Centurion C4 (12")... but now I think I want some keymod goodness. If I can sell the C4... then maybe I'll upgrade... Hey! Want my 12" Centurion? LOL. (Unless you DO want it... )
  18. Considering how much crime is committed by .50 caliber ANYTHING... what exactly will this accomplish? (Besides being able to keep another empty promise to soccer-moms and the sheeple out there. A$$-clown politician, "Look at the crime committed by .50 cal weapons since my law was passed. ZERO! SEE?!? I told you so!")
  19. Thanks RSC! Got the 3 from yesterday! Tom - When you're in the kindle app there should be a menu item that says "sync". Try that... it should show up in your library. Looks like the freebies from yesterday are no longer free. Seems like you missed it.
  20. Yeah... my SPR-ish build WOULD have been "reasonable"... until I went optic shopping.
  21. CR123s (and 18350s) ride nicely in the little heart pill tubes you see at CVS by the checkout. (Like this one: http://www.cvs.com/shop/product-detail/CVS-Keychain-Pill-Fob?skuId=698052) For the larger batteries (like the 18650s, or the Olight's caddy that holds 2 123s/18350s) they generally just go in the pen pocket of my Kato/TAD stealth/mission wallet. (Or if I'm rocking the holster for the Olight... it has 2 slots on it meant for spare batteries.) Update: I heard somewhere that those orange waterproof match holders that you find at kmart in the "camping" aisle hold a 18650 pretty good. I have yet to give it a go though...
  22. My phone (Galaxy Note 2), my ecig (Innokin VTR), at least 1 spare 18650 and 1 spare 18350 battery, Jetbeam RRT01, fisher bullet space pen and a CRKT keychain knife sharpener/strap cutter on the s-biner holding my keys together. If need more junk for a longer day... in my Hazard4 Kato (my awesome xmas gift from my GF) I carry extra 18650 and 18350 (and some primaries) batteries, spare tanks and juices for my ecig, a Rite-In-The-Rain notebook, Sharpie, another pen, at least 1 Bic lighter, mechanix gloves, a spare beanie, my Oakley half jackets, small IFAK, 2 pair nitrile gloves, sometimes my Leatherman MUTT (IMHO the best leatherman they've made yet. The updated Wave is a close second.), and sometimes my Olight M22 (and more spare batteries). I can also carry my D90, a spare lens, SB900, and spare batteries, if I ditch the MUTT and M22. (My Bark River PSK rides in a sneaky side pocket on the Kato too.) That's just the non-bladed stuff. (Bladed stuff: KOTD (knife of the day) clipped to my pocket, and in my wallet (a bladeart mission wallet) I always have my Atwood MSoPT and a micro SOG Micron.) Damn... I realized that I carry a lot of crap.
