  1. The MVC in Lawrenceville took mine as well laminated, sounds like that woman was a moron which is just all too common in these state agencies.
  2. so a question i have is how are you powering these cams? i see they have 5v DC power supply, and i know nothing about electrical but i'm having a hard time visualizing how you install these cameras seemlessly? edit: so i visited the site and read up on the FAQ a little and it looks like they offer power over ethernet (poe) cameras. it would seem to me that this is the way to go since you'd have to try and run a 5v power supply and good luck hiding it. are you guys running poe?
  3. I have a Mossberg 500 and although I don't have a lot of rounds through it I also have the opposite reaction than you. I have read though that the wiggle on the forend is just the way the Mossbergs work. No qualms about my purchase, it goes bang!
  4. Good thread though and appreciate you starting it. I have the UT/FL CCW class next weekend (7th) and I am moving to SC this summer and will be carrying there so I'm starting my research now so this is really convenient for me. Haven't decided on my carry gun yet (still waiting on my freaking permits) but I'm leaning towards a Shield .40 or 9mm and the SA XD 9SC or 40SC.
  5. Kind of car matters but also the area you live in. I have NJ Manufacturers also and pay $1700/yr for 2 cars full coverage, no accidents, no driving violations. Really like the company and they pay you a dividend every year. When I moved from one suburban town where I grew up (Pemberton in the middle of Pinelands and not many highways) to current location Hamilton, my insurance went up just because I live in a major traffic area because the NJTP, I-195, 295, and 95 are all within a couple of minutes and this area is highly populated and they rate you more because you're more likely to get into an accident when there's more cars around you. Unless your like 21 yrs old or looking to insure a Porsche 911 $4300 is a lot!
  6. WOW! Oh Great another thing to get into and research but this looks like a really awesome and informative thread so I am subscribing and thanks to the OP. I'm not really ready to jump into this yet but it's good to know I have a starting point, and I really like the baby monitor idea. Question for all you you who are using this product and are familiar with the setups: Can you have this stuff professionally installed and setup? And will it cost a pretty penny if you purchase the equipment but have an installer do it? Reason I ask is because I read here things mentioned like QOS, port forwarding, and controlling your wifi bandwidth all of which I have NO technical knowledge of and I am lucky that I was able to set up my Netgear N750 router, but I never touch the advanced settings because I dont know jack about them. I'm not real confident I could set this up myself. Could someone post a picture of how the cameras are mounted? I get they are wireless so no hardwiring and cutting into walls, just curious how the mounting options were chosen and what it looks like. I assume the cameras are easily recognizable and in plain sight? Great thread, looking forward to reading and learning more! Edit: Oh and Wombat, what do you mean by "use the appropriate security"? Is that like saying WPA2/PSK with a strong wifi password or something?
  7. Awesome transaction and guy to deal with. Fast shipping. Helped a fellow forum member out with a hard to find part for a build and didn't gouge me. Upstanding guy! Thanks Dragon! If I can't find the LPK I'm looking for hopefully you'll still have that PSA LPK.
  8. welcome to the site, I see you took my advice on xdtalk to check this site out.
  9. Grant- Is there still room in the April 7th class? I'd like to attend. I emailed GAPPNJ on Monday asking about it, no response and I called Cameron today and haven't gotten a call back yet. Any chance you know? Edit: I just went to the site and for April 7th it still said "available" by the Paypal button so I went ahead and paid. Looks like it worked. Really looking forward to another class with GAPPNJ!
  10. If it's "unmailable" then how did they accept it in the first place? Sounds real fishy to me, good luck and I hope you get resolution.
  11. Someone on another site posted this and another person mentioned the same issue of not being able to find the ammo in stock by searching from Cabela's homepage. It doesnt come up. A few people were able to place orders successfully but who knows if they will get anything. Just throwing it out there.
  12. I helped a friend at work move a safe like this, not sure if it was 50 or not but god damn was it heavy and we had to go up a steep ass flight of stairs. It was not fun at all. Not sure if you can remove the door, I figure it'd be a hassle. Plan ahead, good luck with moving it.
  13. Just subscribed to this, I'll be starting a build here soon. I'm looking at a complete upper though as I don't have the tools to put it all together. Just purchased my first lower. I can't really build it until I move to SC this summer because I am going to build a non-NJ Compliant rifle since my new state that I'm moving to is a free state. Doing research now searching for parts. Have a BCG lined up from a forum member who was nice enough to help me out.
  14. I indeed think they are suffering. I was at Ready,Aim, Fire in Bensalem, PA recently and they had no 9mm ammo at all so they had pull all of their 9mm rentals out of their case. .22 the same. They had barely anything and were having hard times finding it or buying it in bulk. And on a Saturday mid-day it was pretty dead and the owner commented about how slow it was.
  15. If you are lucky, and you are ok with supporting a company like DSG (Dick's Sporting Goods), you can find Remington 9mm 1000 rds fro $249.99. Otherwise, all of the other posts pretty much say it all. At my local LGS I was buying Blazer 9mm for around $14/box of 50. Now it's upwards of $20 and limited to one. Wish I had foresight!!! hahahaha
  16. I do not, don't think I ever will but that guy knows what he's selling. Problem I see: Yeah great, I bought a $5,000 door that can't be broken into, won't be ruined by fire or smoke, but how much do I have to spend additionally to have walls in the room just as safe and secure? This guy's just talking doors....Rich folk toys.
  17. I agree with this wholeheartedly and would also participate and am willing to pay. Just imagine how much money it would cost you in legal fees if you didn't know the right things to say or actions to take and the law just scooped you up illegally for whatever reason. I'd rather be prepared and knowledgeable. Great idea!
  18. I just cannot seem to catch this and it's pissing me off..........
  19. Welcome to the forum. I actually live in Hamilton. It will take you roughly 35 minutes to get to Range 14 in Fort Dix, definitely worth checking out and you should also consider Ready, Aim, Fire in Bristol as mentioned before. That's actually where I go to shoot when the weather is not fair. It's $20/hr to shoot however they don't really time you for the hour unless they are packed. My suggestion is to go before 1pm on a weekend and you'll have plenty of time and it wont be crowded. Nice guys over there as well, but if you rent anything you are required to buy their ammo and right now they have practically NONE. I shoot on private property in a sand pit otherwise. CJRPC is expensive but its a really good club from what I hear when talking to people. I shoot for free other than ammo so there's no need for me to join.
  20. glad to see a review of seekins lowers because I've held off purchasing that lower from mpx for over a week now.
  21. Remember folks for the warmer months, cliff bars will MELT and be inedible so you have to choose an "energy bar" that will withstand some temperature fluctuations given these GHB's will be sitting in your vehicles a majority of the time (in July/August at the boat ramp my truck sometimes reads 100 degrees siting in the sun). All great suggestions here, I actually pay close attention to the SHTF thread on the XDTalk forum that I frequent and have built two bags that are quasi BOB/GHB's for my wife and I. My bags closely resemble what spanky packs. They also double as good camping packs. I have two LA Police Gear Operator bags.
  22. Probably something in reference to BCOA allowing gay boys, I think I saw an article this week on a news site saying something lke this. Just guessing.
  23. Whoa this is real close to home and I frequent this store quite often, scary to think. And this DSG does not have locked cabinets for ammo, not sure about any other PA DSG but I know this one doesn't. Might be just a NJ thing, the West Windsor DSG is like that. I've never had to carry my ammo in a white plastic container through the store so I don't know why that was mentioned.
