  1. My long guns were private sale purchases in Pennsylvania. No immediate background check required, no FFL required. Only the one used to get my license to carry firearms. The experience is truly is a banquet of freedom not tasted in this state.
  2. Yes. Prince had done lots of great work in Pennsylvania.
  3. I missed the emp attack article and only read the super-short one at the top of the thread. Yes, there's probably some kind of basic circuit board in the hand crankers that would be rendered useless
  4. And I only have one of those little hand powered crank chargers!
  5. It can be tricky... The more calibers/firearms one owns can easily increase that "large cache" stockpile that gets dramatically reported out of context in newspaper articles.
  6. I agree that there are potential positive implications beyond Pennsylvania. Here's the pafoa.org thread that discusses it further: https://forum.pafoa.org/showthread.php?t=403227
  7. It does not directly effect New Jersey, except for the third circuit court siding with gun owners.
  8. Quick look-up... There are 3242 counties or county equivalent municipalities in the US.
  9. I think it was on a checklist which I answered "No" and nothing further came of it.
  10. It had been asked of me and some family members from time to time over the years and it has nothing to do with lead poisoning.
  11. Correct, but I believe they are the only non-constitutiional carry state that you can keep a firearm loaded without a license in a vehicle ( glove box) and not have to worry about FOPA issues.
  12. South Carolina is probably the best gun friendly state (with the least limitations) that requires a license or their limited reciprocity. It's a little longer, but I-81 to I-77 south, to I-26, to I-95 only leaves 11 miles of Maryland on I-81 to transport under the firearms owners protection act (FOPA).
  13. I was at the Kingwood State Police station in Hunterdon County last night for a job related issue. They have 2 locked doors to get to their lobby and a third to get into the actual station, all of which had rather large bright red 9"x14" "No Guns" signs. I thought it was a bit overkill, but I accept that I probably have the minority viewpoint in this state.
  14. Stopped by the issuing department or any department? I ask because I get the impression that my local department may be more firearm friendly than most.
  15. Vermont has been permitless/Constitutional carry for many years, for everybody. Constitutional carry states can still issue licenses to carry. Maine is a Constitutional carry state, but a license to carry is still needed to carry in certain areas including some parks.
  16. Will the Supreme Court have the opportunity to slap this down too? Wow... a law from 1328 that wasn't even a law here, but they did a good Cherry picking job to spin it that way.
  17. I'll give them a teeny tiny bit of credit for finally realizing the futility of the marketing/demonizing of the visual characteristics of so-called assault weapons, however, their spin on "gas operated" shows that they haven't got much smarter.
  18. When did/will Vista Outdoors sell their ammo part of their company to the Czech company? I find it a little peculiar that they are making this speculative announcement now after the news last fall of them getting out of the ammo business.
  19. I do enjoy hearing the voice of practicality. Thank you. However, one has to cross the Delaware River to find a flat tax.
  20. Has it been confirmed that Card was involuntarily committed to a psychiatric hospital? An evaluation and 2 week stay does not always mean involuntary. I work in the field and sometimes...no, often... psychiatric lingo gets ambiguous. Often just because a person sounds like they should be involuntarily committed to a hosptal, does not mean that actually happens. I have seen many reluctantly voluntary patients over the years. New Jersey has a higher standard than other states, which I disagree with. On the flip side, IF he was in fact involuntary in New York, I do question the possibility of that information not getting to a Maine background check.
  21. Good article. It makes sense. It would only be a matter of time before bolt action rifles would be emotionally decreed as "weapons of war" after semiautomatics were banned.
  22. That would be a case with interesting outcomes as it works its way up through the courts.
