Cheflife15 455 Posted July 27, 2023 I had my rifle leaned on something and it fell and it the cats food bowl. It left a minor scratch on the barrel. I can't imagine this would effect function right? Can I fix this with a bluing kit? https://i.redd.it/a9m2d28g2keb1.jpg?app_web_view=android

Touch up blue or black felt marker. Either on will have to be touched up at times.

I had it out because I've been wearing in the lever to make the action smoother. I do it during breaks from emails. It'll live in its case moving forward.

You don’t have to bag it, just put it down flat in between cycling. Never lean a rifle - it will fall - because gravity is a harsh mistress. It will get scratched and you will be sad. No go forth and use your newfound experienced gained knowledge for the powers of awesome. 18 minutes ago, Mr.Stu said: Get rid of the cat, obviously. Also, a viable solution.
Tunaman 561 Posted July 27, 2023 Rifles are a lot like ladders. Never lean them and and leave the unattended. Bad things can happen...
Displaced Texan 11,768 Posted July 30, 2023 I own one gun that’s doesn’t have a scratch on it. My (late) fathers Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon. It never been fired, and I think it’s been out of the case 3x. Everything else…yep. It’s a sign of use.
