I'm thinking we would look like France.  A "first world nation" with a huge number of refugees from other countries.  And I believe gun rights are non-existent.

Good article.  It makes sense.  It would only be a matter of time before bolt action rifles would be emotionally decreed as "weapons of war" after semiautomatics were banned.

Actually, and unfortunately we are a first world nation. But like you correctly noted not the one of decades ago its just that like EVERYTHING else the criteria has been dumbed down.
