So what do you do during a snowstorm?

Here is what I did....

 

 

 

Soaked barrel in White Vinegar for about 6 hours..... hit it with 600 grit.... then started with the Dremel and rouge , and then finally Flitz cream....

That came out great, I've heard about the vinegar thing what does it do?

Its 5% acidic...... softens the coating, so you can wipe sand it off easier....

 

..... after done soaking...... soak barrel in water and baking soda to offset acid. Then clean and oil barrel as usual...

Here is a couple of pictures we took when I polished the barrel on my son's XD9. I used a bench buffer with some jewelers rouge and stainless. Two years later and it looks just as shiny!

 

 

 

And here is a picture of the springer trigger bar, fitted, polished and installed
