Their pistol ammo prices seem fair rifle is still to high compared to other vendors.

7.62x39 can be found for $199.00 per 1000 rounds now no reason to be paying over $250.00 before shipping.

Maybe cabela's isn't that bad of a deal. I just got 2200 rounds of 9mm for 13.00 shipped per box of 50. Granted had to wait a little over a month for it, but in the meantime I bought from the local gun shop.

Not to be a party pooper, but $15/50 is kind of a lot for 9mm FMJ. If you look around, you can find 1000 rounds of PMC 9mm for about $220 plus another 12-15 for shipping. CCI Blazer for about $200-210/1000. Even Federal AE is around $230-240/1000 these days.

Why? Cabela's has some very good prices when ammo goes on sale and then they have lots of times when they offer free shipping. No tax on top of that. Pricing ammo buys vs other online shops, Cabela's usually comes out as a better deal.

22lr I can actually get cheaper in the shops by me, even after tax. That is the 500 round boxes of cci and federal. 9mm is quite a bit cheaper from them than at the local places. Just bought a ton of it from them. But 12 ga. trap loads by the case are cheaper local. So I guess it really depends on what your looking for.
