Another silly question, only wondering out of curiousity

I have yet to shoot at an outdoor range such as cherry ridge or CJRPC but was wondering this morning, since they have multiple ranges on site is there a range officer at every range? How can they possible afford this?

I can only answer about CR and the answer is sometimes

I almost always see an RO at the pistol range on weekends. Not sure about weekdays.

The rifle range seems to be 50/50 - I somehow always seem to end up near the buzzer/light switch and end up becoming an unofficial RO.

Silhouette range - never seen an RO there.

Shotgun range - only when we call down for clays.

 

That said, there's always ROs driving around the range. During the weekend when it's busy there seem to be at least 3-4 ROs around.

 

Now, 3 things:

1 - pick better subjects

2 - this probably belongs in the Ranges & Gunshops section of the forums

3 - Definitely come up on the second Sunday when we're all at CR - we'll show you the ropes.

I belong to CJRPC. There are ROs on weekends when there is a lot of traffic. I usually go during the week and many times there is no one else at the facility. If you read the safety rules there the first person on the range is considered the RO. Never had any problem with this.

I believe the new policy is always a RO at the pistol range at CR. RO Steve was there with us yesterday afternoon all the time we were there and left when we left. A RO has been on the pistol range every time I've been there during the week.
