mobile4 0 Posted June 22, 2010 I have a few loaded rounds that the primers fliped upsidedown. I have already pulled the bullet and recovered the powder. I am wondering what the best way to deal with the mis-primed caeses. Thamks Tom

djg0770 481 Posted June 22, 2010 I had one go in sideways - don't ask. I tossed the case.
Sigman 41 Posted June 22, 2010 Slowly deprime the case. It will pop right out. Just wear safety glasses just in case. I've done this with upside down and sideways primers.

Do as I say not as I do...
Col. Mortimer 11 Posted June 22, 2010 My buddy gave me a good tip. After you deprime, glance down and check the primer to be sure it is in the proper position. I don't know if you can do this on every press but you can on the Dillon 550B.
Celraysoda 7 Posted June 24, 2010 I use a Lee Pro 1000 and it likes to set primers in sideways if there is there is a single flake of powder in the wrong spot.
Lunicy 4 Posted June 25, 2010 What I do: Put on your big boy pants and a set of glasses and de-prime normally (gently). Re-use primers The End They are primers. They need a relatively solid impact to pop. Sure, it is possibly to pop them by accident, but you are wearing safety glasses aren't you? You didn't set them off when you installed them did you?
