Col. Mortimer 11 Posted September 5, 2010 I would need a whole lot more practice before I join. I don't wanna embarrass myself after seeing Ray shoot at BH and Maks in that video. Nah! The important part is look cool while you shoot. The spectators can't see the holes (or lack there of) in the targets. Come to the USPSA Introduction Class and you will be good to go. JimmyAGR 54 Posted September 6, 2010 Wow that looks like a lot of fun. What do you need to get started in this? besides a pitol . Is there a requirement for caliber, mag capacity? What type of holster and mag holders? Thnaks for the help.

But most of all, just come out, major fun.
JimmyAGR 54 Posted September 6, 2010 Thanks Maks, I will definitely have to come out and try that. how many rounds do you go through in a match? Do you have any holster recommendations, I would need to buy one for my Sig, or 1911.

Do you have any holster recommendations, I would need to buy one for my Sig, or 1911. I used a Blackhawk Serpa holster which was pretty good for a 1911. The courses are typically 100 to 200 rounds, depending on who is hosting the event. Shongum was 100 rounds, and I went through 110, between the safety orientation and lost ejected rounds. Typically you would want to bring 150 to 250 rounds, depending if the course of fire is 100 or 200 rounds.

Uncle mikes is also of good quality, lesser expensive and readily available.
bry@n 195 Posted September 6, 2010 This sounds like a lot of fun. How long are the matches? How many rounds do you go through? Reloads allowed or factory ammo only?
Maksim 1,504 Posted September 6, 2010 This sounds like a lot of fun. How long are the matches? How many rounds do you go through? Reloads allowed or factory ammo only? 4pmish.... they end. Look above. depending on where, either 100 round, or 200 round course of fire. most people that I saw there were using reloads. commercial is allowed. bry@n 195 Posted September 6, 2010 Well I'd prefer to use reloads, cause of expense and making a lighter load for quicker response, but hey.... When is the next one.

JimmyAGR 54 Posted September 7, 2010 Okay so I just ordered a blackhawk holster and double mag holder. Only problem is I can't make Sunday at CJ. I will make the next one. Oh and now I have to start reloading pistol ammo (.40). Guess I need to call Vinny at hunting world and order some dies, etc. My wife is going to love this Thanks for the cool videos, LOL. I'm sure you'll start shooting in production, but if you move to other classes, your loads have to reach a certain power factor to qualify for major.
