Broken tin opener

This is a silly question, but the tin opener that came with the Mosin ammo broke on first use! The flat edge that goes under the fold on the side broke.

 

I was tempted to use a cutting wheel, but that will create some sparks, so want to avoid that!

 

What else can I use that will pop open that bad boy!?

Use a tin punch and a hammer - get an opening, then use pliers to pry it up.

use a pair of tin snips, once you have a opening get the tip in their and work around the edge..

Yeah those nibblers work surprisingly well. Watch where those nibbles go because they can get everywhere (they stick to things for some reason) and ya don't want one in a weapon.

Use a long pair of needlenose pliers and use them like you would use the opener after you get it started.......

I used a bayonet and a pair of vise grips. (No Kidding)
