bry@n 195 Posted October 18, 2010 Okay, so there is some talk amongst a few of us about going to this shoot. Basic idea is to have a cannoball run there and back and shoot inbetween. well not exactly like that but is anybody up for doing this? 3 gun is handgun, AR15 and Shotgun. Guest HuntingPaper Posted October 18, 2010 We are going!!! We where thinking on renting a RV and drive back and forth because some of us just won't jump in an airplane plus also will be easier to travel with the "gear".
bry@n 195 Posted October 18, 2010 I believe the dates are April 15th and 16th. How many days is up to you. I know I am at least taking the friday and monday after. Probably looking to take Thursday to Tuesday off from work. dpas1973, if you commit, you need to make sure you will be able to follow through. Luis, I am setting the plans in motion now. ROAD TRIP!!! The RV can significantly add to the trip cost, just sayin.....
Guest HuntingPaper Posted October 18, 2010 I know, but we should find out the cost and if there's enough of us it may be cost effective.

Cmon, Maks, you and I, in one vehicle can make it to Austin in 28 hours. That is with gas stops, piss breaks and food while we are at piss breaks. Hotels are cheap in TX. This can't be all that much. Maksim 1,504 Posted October 18, 2010 depending how close or where in Texas, I have a client/friend there that has a place to stay.
bry@n 195 Posted October 18, 2010 i would do it just need to know how much $$ i need to get a shotgun also by then to be honest, $$ will depend on different circumstances. Driving with the "gear" will be easier than putting it on a plane etc.. Also, carpooling and sharing a hotel rm will also help keep the costs down. CageFighter 236 Posted October 18, 2010 i would consider going, just as a spectator. would definately split gas, lodging, etc. i dont mind the drive since i would love to get out of NJ & move to TX anyway. this way, i can see what i'd get myself into. drove from San Jose, CA back to NJ in 2 1/2 days! ronhonda 86 Posted October 20, 2010 Not trying to be Debbie Downer here, but these matches fill up fast. So if you haven't signed up yet, you might want to do it soon. Also it's a pretty demanding match, I recommend getting a few 3 gun matches under your belt. From experience, driving out to a big match, shooting, then driving home, is a huge drain on you. If possible get there a day or two before the match and leave the following day after the match. It's better to shoot with some rest. You WILL be exhausted and beat up from the match, especially a 3gun match. Get yourself prepared with the right gear and equipment. You don't want to go there and have issues. Again I am not trying to discourage anyone here from going, but just give you some pointers. Plus Texas has a large competitive shooter population, and many will attend this match.
