bry@n 195 Posted December 11, 2010 So I am liking the Ace stock. Can't decide which one though. The skeleton or the entry stock? Please weigh in with comments.

JonF 79 Posted December 11, 2010 installation and removal of the foam sleeve is kind of a PITA, but a lightweight and comfortable stock. If you're building a carbine that you shoot standing and squared up to your target, get the shorty. If you're building a long range bench rifle or one that you'll shoot bladed, get the longer one. i had the long one on my long range varmint build, then when i put a carbine upper, it was too long to shoot squared up so i built another dedicated lower with a shorter stock and its much more ergonomic. you can shoot the short stocks bladed too, they're just a touch closer to your head and only of concern if you run magnified optics. ChrisJM981 924 Posted December 11, 2010 I prefer the full size. The foam tube is easy to put on if you have the right tool. Believe it or not... K-Y water based lube. It will evaporate after you slide on the foam. I did it dry and it was painful for myself and the stock.
bry@n 195 Posted December 11, 2010 now you would already have to have the KY in the house to have come up with that idea seriously guys, thanks. I am toying with the idea to modify my colt or maybe sell and build a new ar.
vladtepes 1,060 Posted December 11, 2010 I have used ACE stocks on several guns I have owned.. including the Saiga.. they are really nice solid stocks.. and since we can't have adjustable anyway.. might as well get a nice solid stock..
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted December 11, 2010 I have the full size as well. I'm 6'5" and I figured the shorter one wouldn't be feasible. I like the foam on mine and it's compfy on my cheeky.
EchoMirage 137 Posted December 11, 2010 after installation the foam will stretch and be easier to remove. it slipped right off when i did the cord wrap. depending on your buffer tube, you may have to modify the tube and/or hole where the tube enters the ACE stock. i had to dremel drumsand the end of the tube and stock for it to fit right. bmanrkg3 3 Posted December 12, 2010 I too have the full size and love it. looks aside, the only thing i could see as an issue would be if you wanted the cleaning kit area in the full A2 stock... Other than that, it sure beats having a pinned collapseable...
