rlsbee 1 Posted December 26, 2010 I'm lookin to buy a new .22LR. It's probably gonna be a Sig 522 or a GSG-5. The Sigs are pretty well documented but I'd like to find out more about the GSG-5. Anyone have input?
lunker 274 Posted December 26, 2010 Nice gun. Accurate, but I feel it's a pain in the butt to clean. They have been discontinued after losing the lawsuit by HK for producing an MP5 clone. If that's what you really want, grab ione while thyey are still cheap and plentiful. http://www.thefirear...-cease-shortly/
axeman_g 128 Posted December 26, 2010 I dont want to be rude, but the GSG has been discussed many times on this board. Please try the search function. Many of your questions will be answered in those threads.
PK90 3,570 Posted December 26, 2010 The GSG-5 is now the GSG-522, is still in production and selling like wildflowers.
axeman_g 128 Posted December 27, 2010 That is good new Paul. I did not know that.
rlsbee 1 Posted December 29, 2010 I was aware of most of the posts. I was just looking for anything new, particularly owner satisfaction, range reports, ammunition preferences etc. Much appreciation for the replies.
superbee 2 Posted December 29, 2010 Wait for the HK MP5A5 and MP5A5 SD.......They say they are coming out soon......
RecessedFilter 222 Posted January 3, 2011 I posted a rather lengthy reply to a previous thread on GSG's about two weeks ago. I believe the thread got lost/deleted in all the forum work being done to it. Let me see if I can find it...
unloco 2 Posted January 7, 2011 If you are still interested in getting that GSG 5, i have one for sale in market place...check it out!! Its the anniversary edition "SD"
PistolWhip 13 Posted January 17, 2011 I have the GSG-522SD version. It's a fun little gun and looks great. It's very accurate for what it is and seems to run like a champ. I don't have a ton of rounds through it, but I have had contact with ATI for a part that was broken out of the box (it was something minor, just cosmetic) and without even a question, they agreed to send me a new part. It was on my door step in 3 days. Great customer service. I'm actually thinking about getting one of there AK47 .22LR clones next.
AverageJoe 95 Posted December 21, 2011 I have the original GSG-5 and absolutely love it. I actually had it for a few years and never sighted it in until yesterday(thanks again Jon)..oops lol...Dead on balls accurate, so much cheap fun!
raz-0 1,259 Posted December 21, 2011 They are nice little guns. Trigger is so-so. for the price it isn't bad.
Jon 264 Posted December 21, 2011 Tons of fun. Although I think I'm glad I went with the 15-22 instead. Eventually I'll have both.
montecristo345 4 Posted January 1, 2012 They make one in pistol form for NY. It's kind of ugly http://www.americant...694/detail.html
Old Glock guy 1,127 Posted January 2, 2012 I have a GSG-522, and it's kind of fun. But I would have to say that I like my 15-22 a lot better.
blksheep 466 Posted January 23, 2012 I have a GSG5 before they got sued....I love it. Fun little gun.
KpdPipes 388 Posted January 27, 2012 There are also "Kits" that will allow you to turn your Post-Lawsuit GSG-522 into a pre-suit configuration GSG-5. There are also a TON of aftermarket parts, and mods for the GSG-5/522s out there.
blksheep 466 Posted January 30, 2012 I think GSG actually makes the kit, right?
david8613 69 Posted February 12, 2012 why can't they make and sell a 9mm version in nj?
woodentoe 14 Posted February 15, 2012 I believe that Chris at Bullseye Tactical Supply in Woodbridge has a GSG on his rack. I also put my hands on a PTR-91 he's got. That's a whole lot of rifle for a newbie like me. Maybe someday.
civictuner04 6 Posted February 16, 2012 i have one that i did the mods to make it look like a real mp5. replaced butt stock and changed the lower housing to one that has the bullets symbol for safe, semi, and fa. ive done other stuff but can remeber havent touched the gun in over a year.
