I recently came across this stuff at what I thought was a good price. I know nothing about it other than its lead semi wad cutter and has a nylon coating over it.

 

 

 

Can anybody tell me anything about this ammo? Good or bad...

Thanks Bob. I read somewhat info that said it was a FBI load and now only used as a police load to cut down on leading also.

 

I will shoot a box of it and see how it turns out. For the price, I couldn't go wrong, especially when ball ammo was going for the same price and these are HP.

I think I still have a box of that I bought from Navy Arms quite some time ago. IIRC it was PAPD surplus.

Ray may have the Cirillo connection wrong but NYPD was issuing this as recently as 2005 to my knowledge and probably more recently. IIRC it was the first hollowpoint NYPD issued in the early 90s.

I was told that this case came from the NYPD and this was only a few weeks ago. I plan on shooting it to see how it shooots.

Have shot some through an LCR. Was fine.

It was great when I shot it the other day. Very smooth and not a bad HD round if you own a 38spl.
