Police Activity in North Brunswick

Anyone hear of anything going on? I cut through North Bruns on my way over to Somerset, maybe 2 miles total, and I saw no less than 10 different patrol cars. Some were stationary others were roving around. Seemed odd, as if they were looking for something?

Star Ledger tweeted about an hour ago that there was a shooting in New Brunswick. Maybe it's related to what you saw. Apparently the cops came upon a street fight. One guy was armed and fired, the cops returned fire and hit him.

Driving into work this morning on Route 1 from Edison to Princeton (at about 5:30am) there was a helicopter flying so low that it rattled some of the filling in my mouth.

I go to school in New Brunswick and I don't have a problem walking around at night - New Brunswick isn't exactly Happytown USA - but if you just go a couple blocks away from the campus, there are some areas I wouldn't even think about going into at any time of day.

I used to drive a taxi cab in Brumfus. It is a thousand times better now than 15 years ago. I still wouldn't want to be anywhere near Throop street or Feaster park any time of day or night.

According to Al Sharpton that area is over flowing with law abiding citizens so I think it is a safe bet he did, in fact, have his CCW.
