chris327 30 Posted February 29, 2012 Ray clean brass is nowhere near $3 right now. Second alot of yards don't want ammo brass because its sometimes mixed metal and the yards get downgraded.

What if you melted it down, and made it into brass bars or something like that?
chris327 30 Posted February 29, 2012 Your better off finding a yard that will take it because some still take it.melting down takes way more work then its worth.
Tactical Turtle 11 Posted February 29, 2012 280 a pound here in ocean county at bluetts. It hasn't been 175 in 2 years. That website you posted is for dirty brass, once you remove primers it clean brass, worth more. If you look the 1.75 is for brass with solder and other added material which increases the weight of the brass via impurities. Call up and ask, I just brought 32lbs to bluetts and made around 80 bucks.

Ray Ray 3,566 Posted February 29, 2012 clean brass and dirty brass are two different prices. Just like clean copper wire and dirty copper wire and copper pipe. Where's junkmanted?
Tactical Turtle 11 Posted February 29, 2012 Me and my father in law strip wire for most of the winter to scrap. Save all cans, I save all my brass and when I have a free day we remove primers. Over all we make.about 2500 a year scrapping in our free time. Not to bad huh

It's fast cash! Like my personnel ATM!

hd2000fxdl 422 Posted February 29, 2012 What if you melted it down, and made it into brass bars or something like that? IIRC brass melts at around 1700 degrees and if not a controlled melt will separate.
