What keeps them from pulling out with the gun when you go to draw? Do they clip on somehow?

See that little flap at the bottom? That grips my pocket so when I pull, only the pepper blaster comes out.

I'm a bigger guy and I will only wear pants with a very relaxed fit...most of which have larger pockets.

 

Seems to be I would grab it in a flash and draw and I would be pointing at the BG with a holstered weapon. But of course I'll never know until I try.

 

Do some people sew them into their pants?

It's something that you have to practice with. Pocket holsters do require some break-in.

 

They also won't work with every set of pants you have.

Yea thats what worry's me, I pretty much only buy pants with big pockets...

Check out the Remora holster. You can use it in your pocket and IWB. I have one and it really grips in your pocket. I like it a lot. Its pretty cool too b/c you can carrt IWB without a clip in something like sweat pants or basketball shorts. Its cheap too. Def give it a shot!

If you want to check out mine you are more than welcome. You are far away tho so im not so sure of that would work out. May be cheaper gas wise just to buy the holster, i think it was like $30 or something like that...

+1 the Remora Holster works for me, although my PX4 Compact is too big for pocket carry.

I have a De Santis which along with the corner "flap" has a stippled rubber-like coating on it. Grips pretty well. Also, you can cover the pocket with the off hand when drawing and it helps keep the holster in place.
