SW99 2 Posted March 30, 2012 That's nice I would have considered it if I saw it a few weeks ago! I just got the stag 6position style stock pinned right from the factory for 69 shipped, if you like that style.
blksheep 466 Posted March 30, 2012 Very nice!
raz-0 1,265 Posted March 30, 2012 One of the members here has one. It's OK. Given the profile, you would think it has tubes along the side for batteries or whatever, but it has a little hatch in the bottom that is a very small space. Maybe a bit bigger than the storage space in a miad grip, but shaped differently. If it was $50 I'd say a very good option for a budget build. At the price, I'd say only if you think it looks awesome. It isn't lighter or more rigid than an ARFX stock.
JonF 79 Posted March 30, 2012 I like the wide cheek rest surface; its a nice feature for a rifle length stock that you may do a lot of bench shooting from. Rock river makes a similar one called the Operator A2. One primary difference is the A2 vs the A1 length for the Stag plus the RR has a storage compartment. Like the stag, the RR also comes with buffer, spring and tube.
blksheep 466 Posted March 30, 2012 I may have to order one soon.
checko 180 Posted March 30, 2012 I like that RRA one but its more than I wanted to spend. Im already a little over budget on my build. Im also not a big fan of the pinned 6 position stocks. Any other recommendations for a fixed stock under $100?
tuktuk 16 Posted March 31, 2012 look at ACE stocks. that's what I am using for my lightweight build.
JonF 79 Posted April 1, 2012 FYI, A quick search showed a few online retailers selling the RR stock for an even hundred. http://vtsupply.com/rock-river-arms-rra-a2-operator-stock-fixed-length-ar15-ar10-p-498.html http://www.westsaharaguns.com/Rock-River-Arms-Operator-A2-Stock-Kit-RRAoperA2.htm
MikeL417 33 Posted April 23, 2012 Bought the stag arms stock and its being shipped now. Will update with review soon!
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted April 24, 2012 Wow, I just thought about picking up that very same stock. Interesting looking stock, although the Rock River seems to have more bells and whistles.
checko 180 Posted April 24, 2012 I actually went with a used a2 stock for like $35 Interested to know how the original stock is from MikeL
MikeL417 33 Posted April 25, 2012 The Stag Arms stock came today and I installed it in 3 minutes. It's GREAT! The RRA stock has two tiny little holes in the rear for batteries but the Stag stock actually has a 5"ish by 2"ish door underneath to hide stuff in. Pretty neat. Shoulders really well for a person of my size 5' 8". Light weight AND the slanted cheek rests are perfect! Sturdy and worth the 90 IMO. Mike P.S. any questions about it plz ask me! MikeL417 33 Posted April 25, 2012 As you can see it has a BIT more room than the RRA buttstock. It can hold about 6 AA batteries and two more CR123 batteries with room to spare before you hit the door.
MikeL417 33 Posted April 25, 2012 Photo from rear. Pad is grippy and sturdy
MikeL417 33 Posted April 25, 2012 Empty compartment. Easy to open and out of your way.
MikeL417 33 Posted April 25, 2012 Overall shot. I like this buttstock. You dont have to worry about making it NJ legal and it looks pretty cool IMO

MikeL417 33 Posted April 26, 2012 Eh son of a B. Fixed... sorry guys. That should do it. Mike
Qel Hoth 33 Posted April 26, 2012 I think it looks pretty nice, but (and this is probably a dumb question) why do you need 6 AA batteries in the butt of your rifle? This isn't an airsoft gun is it?
MikeL417 33 Posted April 26, 2012 Nah I just grabbed a few of the closest things around me to show how much it could hold of something. To help give an idea of what it can do. (even if it was an airsoft gun XD)... Mike
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted April 26, 2012 I can see a small spare parts kit or cleaning kit fitting in there.
raz-0 1,265 Posted April 27, 2012 As you can see it has a BIT more room than the RRA buttstock. It can hold about 6 AA batteries and two more CR123 batteries with room to spare before you hit the door. I retract my previous statement, as that compartment was NOT what was on the stock I handled. That's much more like what I expected. It looks like it in all other respects, and yours has the amount of storage I would expect from the external dimensions. Wonder what the stock I handled was? tbtrout 141 Posted April 28, 2012 My wife has one on her gun, it is the most comfortable stock I have shouldered yet on an AR and gives an excellent cheek weld.
