fmtek 4 Posted July 24, 2012 Hey everyone. Was wondering if anyone owns and/or carries this flashlight. What do you think about the defense edges? Thanks, -Frank
this_is_nascar 162 Posted July 24, 2012 Hey everyone. Was wondering if anyone owns and/or carries this flashlight. What do you think about the defense edges? Thanks, -Frank I think the prosecutor would have field day, if/when, you used this for SD. Are you looking for a light or something for SD? If a light, checkout the 4Sevens line of lights. Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted July 24, 2012 Regardless of the strike bezel, IIRC, the E2D is an incandescent bulb. With LED technology where it is, I think that is a better option. Surefire makes fine lights, and they were the best when you were limited to regular bulb, but LED's are the way to go. JMHO Adios, Pizza Bob

bry@n 195 Posted July 24, 2012 My wide edc's a e2d and has for years. No issues. The edges ate kinda sharp but only good if your going to use it to strike somebody in a defense scenario. That being said, Pizza Bob is right about the led version. You can buy the les head or a new light if you already have the e2d. I am getting my wife the new light personally. East Brunswick Sportsman 4 Posted July 24, 2012 I have the led version, and have carried it every day for 3 years. It gets dropped, soaked, and otherwise abused and has yet to fail. Its a keeper. Henry
johngo1 0 Posted July 25, 2012 I have the newer E2D and it is LED. Great light. Regardless of the strike bezel, IIRC, the E2D is an incandescent bulb. JamesC 2 Posted July 25, 2012 I'm with the others with the E2D - carry it all over, use it when I travel for work since it's an easy thing to get through TSA screeners.
A-Tech 8 Posted July 25, 2012 What do you think about the defense edges? That's just a raised bezel to protect the lens from impact. Obviously it could be used for a good thrust, but my Fenix lights have more of a bezel than the Surefires. Just remember if its ever used as a weapon, that those edges only purpose is what I just stated. Otherwise, in the eyes of a prosecutor, you bought that with intentions of using it as a weapon.
