M1 Garand around the world

Recommended Posts

France received over 200,000 from us during the 50s and early 60s that's possibly how it got there. It does loook to be in good shape. Maybe it was found in a warehouse recently. I've seen CMP get some returns that were brand new in the factory wrapper over the years.

I think this might be phase 2 of Fast and Furious. The BATF is letting the Lebonnese buy the Garands in Ohio and sneak them in to Syria.

I'm sure someone in the current adminstration knows something about dummying up brith certificates so they can do this!!!!!!!

The greatest battle implement ever devised is still kicking ass and taking names later. I would have no qualms at all carrying one onto a modern battlefield. If you havent shot one you dont know what you are missing. Love at first trigger pull

The Yugoslavian Army had a few thousand Garands after WW2 , but a lot of them were not used much after.

Maybe the M44 s in Syria are from the Yugo warehouses since they had a lot of them after the war and Prvi Partizan from Serbia still makes 8 mm Kurz ammo.

What s interesting is that due to the Military aid from Truman in the 50s the Yugo army had Sherman Tanks with 1919 machine guns and in 1956 the ammo factory IGMAN Konjic and Prvi Partizan started making 30.06 ammo.......and they still make it today...

A certain friend/moderator here put me on the path to obtaining my Garand from CMP, and it is probably the most funnest gun I own; always puts a smile on my face.

With that said, it is one bad ass rifle, and I can only imagine the amount of destruction to human anatomy it can cause.

yeah watch out they all speak to you. If I ever get a day off I am planning another trip out to ohio. I'll keep you updated BlueLine. It doesn't look like my next day off will be until the end of November. UGH life sucks, only 2 weeks off in a little more than 6 months..... :wild: A CMP trip will be desperately needed.

IHC's may be out by then, you might have perfect timing.

I really want one so bad. I need to go to CMP so i can choose which one speaks to me

BLF, I got mine shipped and sight unseen (H&R service grade I think) from CMP and man it is a beauty and shoots great. I don't think I could have picked out one better, but maybe I was just lucky.
