know a good shop to bore sight?

anyone know a good shop to get a rifle bore sighted at in the central to south jersey area?

Bolt action? Do it yourself - no special equipment needed. I do this in my basement where I have an unobstructed run of 25 feet or so. Post a large target. Support the rifle - sandbags preferrably. Remove the bolt. Put the cross hairs of the scope on the center of the target. Get behind the rifle and look down the bore - what you see is appx where the POI would be. Adjust the scope until the sight picture and the view through the bore coincide. This should put you on the paper at 25 yards. Make fine adjutments from there, using live ammo and ultimately moving the target to the desired range.

I've done as Bob explained for years. Never found a need to buy a boresighter or take it to anyone.

That's how I've done it too. Works for AR's too (remove BCG) and shotguns with cantilever sights.I usually go to a window and use a stop sign a few hundred yards away since my range only has 100yd targets though. Walking it back from 25 would be easier.

I've done it as well. But I've had laser boresights for years and they are a little quicker. Not expensive.

Pizza Bob's method, a couple of boxes of ammo, and a set of sand bags = a great day at the range, a properly sighted rifle, and a great feeling of personal satisfaction.
