Son of a Bitc$. This is MY FNRA dinner that me and my people volunteer to run and raise money for NJ grants. We are allowing ANJRPC to run the annual meeting our our event to kill two birds with one stone. NJ2AS purchased two tables already. Is there not another thread that is for ANJRPC COMPLAINTS? This is the GunForHire Thread. Please move on.

"Amongst the fun and fellowship, Friends of NRA banquets boil down to one goal— fund-raising for the future of the shooting sports. Since its inception in 1992, Friends of NRA has held over 14,000 events, reached over 2.5 million attendees and raised over $180 million for The NRA Foundation , a 501©(3) charitable organization. Each year, The NRA Foundation allocates half of all net proceeds to fund projects within the state in which the money was raised and uses the other half to fund similar projects with a national scope.

Committee volunteers are appointed to State Fund Committees to make recommendations for local grant funding in areas such as youth firearm safety and education programs, hunter education, range development and improvement, women’s training seminars, and wildlife conservation efforts. Recognizing that America's young people represent the future of the shooting sports, State Fund Committee grants are frequently given to youth programs, allocating more than 50% of grant monies to this important area."

This is not NRA general fund rasing. It is for the NRA Foundation. Since it is a charitable organization they cannot have political speeches.

You are spot on Tom. The volunteers that run the dinners in the State raise 100's of thousands of dollars every year for FNRA, not NRA. Half the money goes to FNRA HQ to fund national programs like Eddie Eagle Gun safety and purchase bullet proof vests for cops. The other half of the money raised stays in the State and is used for grants. Each dinner gets a seat on the grant committee and we decide how to divvy up the money. Every year we have more cash requests then we have cash. But we do fund many, many great programs. Scouts, camp perry, outreach events for most of the clubs in NJ, etc, etc, etc. Any legitimate organization can file a grant and we review all of them at the committee meeting. Last year we were able to disperse about 70% of every dollar that was requested for grants. Not bad indeed.

Well we did it again! 436 people attended the third FNRA dinner hosted by the Bullet Hole, Gun For Hire, and the ANJRPC. Record numbers again. Thank you all for attending and making it a great night. We gave away 15 guns!
