Mikeythumbs 1 Posted September 22, 2012 Hey all i just looked at the steel website and it said the stages are going to be different then normal and might requier reloads. i wanted to know are 5 mags still going to be enough.
FLHX 1 Posted September 22, 2012 I don't have the answer, but I have a few more questions to ask. What is the difference with this match compared to the regular once a month match? Can people still shoot multiple guns?
alec.mc 180 Posted September 24, 2012 Anybody have some solid info on this? I heard today that it was a rimfire only event.
Kingsoverqueens 10 Posted September 24, 2012 Yes, rimfire only. Dave announced that during the match earlier in the month. He didn't say anything about additional mag requirements or restrictions on the number of guns however. Just that it was a "special" match with 22 only. Or rimfire, I forget. No centerfire. You know. OK, good talk...
FLHX 1 Posted September 24, 2012 I guess by special they mean it doesn't usually happen on this date they are usually on the first Sunday of the month and it is only rimfire so it's "special" . That's cool another match to hit the more the better!!
zoid 24 Posted September 24, 2012 Sounds like a good event. I hope to make it. Anyone know if rifles are allowed? Sounds very fun Next Match Sunday September 30 2012. Sign up 8:30 am Our next match will be on the 5th Sunday. It will be RIMFIRE ONLY. Stages will not follow the traditional steel format. You will need lots of ammo. You may need to execute reloads on stome stages.
Sig226GuyNJ 128 Posted September 25, 2012 So, are five 10 round mags enough for this? How many rounds are needed?
Kingsoverqueens 10 Posted September 25, 2012 I don't know how many rounds but seem to recall Dave saying to "bring a brick." Even if the round count is twice that of a regular match, we're talking about 300 rounds. We're going to share the pistol and each of us shoot our rifle. I'm figuring 2 bricks for us, perhaps a little more.
Mikeythumbs 1 Posted September 25, 2012 Good thing I just brought the round count on .22 to over 5000 love .22 so cheap yet so fun
Heavyopp 167 Posted September 26, 2012 What are the details of this? Does the OBRPC crew shoot this? Is it basically he same set up as old bridge? Youth shooters OK?? Cost per gun? We might give this a try, gotta look at where CJ is. Might be a little far. Jer
Kingsoverqueens 10 Posted September 26, 2012 I haven't shot steel at Old Bridge so I can make a comparison. The last event at CJ I paid (I think) $3 per gun, and my 15 y/o son was welcomed with open arms.

It is usally 3 dollars per gun for members 8 dollars per gun for non. I am not sure what this match is going to be like as it says on cjsteel tO bring extra ammo and you might need to reload during the stage. I was looking at some ruger rim fire steel stages and they had up to 8 plates in sOme stages so I am thinking it might be like that. As far as youths I have seen kids shooting so I don't think It will be a problem as long as they are safe.

JonF 79 Posted September 30, 2012 Alec, its good that you're hitching a ride with mike. He keeps plenty of kleenex in the car for the post match tears. He's also an olympic class hugger so when you're feeling down on that long ride back home, just let it happen buddy.

M4BGRINGO 139 Posted September 30, 2012 Man, we gotz a bunch of comedians on here. Elvis, you put them up to this? Payback is a biotch buddy. Hung pretty good with Tooty Fruity with the carbine. Had my azz handed to me with the handgun, what else is new there. Alec put the beat-down on Jon with the Ruger 1.0 second stage. In fact, he probably put the beatdown on everyone there on that stage.
