Turbotezza 1 Posted January 27, 2013 Managed to find one at a pre-crazy price. Unfortunately, this is the last one he had. This isn't a gun for people with small or medium hands as the mags hold 15 rounds in double stack. My hands are marginal, even with the small backstrap (swapable) on. Speaking of which, the moulded checkering on the frame and backstrap is super aggressive and provides excellent grip. I've ordered a smooth backstrap which should make the grip circumference a little smaller. Range time next week.

KELEKONA 0 Posted January 27, 2013 Congrats! Excellent gun. My dad has one in .40, definitely made for bigger hands
RecessedFilter 222 Posted January 27, 2013 The FNX's have very aggressive checkering, I was not a fan when I shot it. The FNP's were sweet though, basically same gun but the FNX is the updated one I believe, correct?
Turbotezza 1 Posted January 27, 2013 Yep. It is as rough as 20 grit. I think they did it because the grip frame is so big and wanted sure the shooter has good purchace on the gun. I don't mind the side panels so much, but I can forsee the backstrap being murder on my palm. I know the mags are different from the FNP and so are some of the controls. NJCK 5 Posted January 27, 2013 FNX is a fantastic shooter and fits large hands very well. Unfortunately, I personally could not stand the abuse from the checkering after a typical range day of a few hundred rounds. Swapped for a FNP with a fellow member over at Five Seven Forum.
