Parker 213 Posted February 28, 2013 Some early video coverage of the rally at New York's state capital today. http://www.usatoday....rotest/1954141/
papercutninja 24 Posted February 28, 2013 It looks successful and the news report is neutral (video cut off at the end for me).

PeteF 1,044 Posted February 28, 2013 How come they get to have sticks when they protest? They weren't supposed to. http://www.syracuse....o.html#comments Organizers for the day, which include the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association, gave advice to the protesters. Keep your guns – and any empty holsters that could serve as a sign of protest – at home. Signs must be handheld, with no stakes. Avoid wearing hunter’s orange or camouflage so media images don’t easily make caricatures out of gun owners.
Parker 213 Posted February 28, 2013 Scant coverage on the local area news channels here. Not surprised.

papercutninja 24 Posted March 1, 2013 Crappy weather today too, glad they had a good turnout. Any tinfoil hat types want to claim that the gubberment is using weather control to dampen our pro 2A rallies? But seriously, do we think they got the 10k they were expecting to show up? Njgunowner 2 Posted March 1, 2013 I think the estimate was around 5k based on the number of full buses.
dtown223 12 Posted March 1, 2013 Good to see, as much as we're seeing a great push to stop/overturn these absurd laws, the mindset of noncompliance and non-enforcement seems to be quite strong in upstate (non-cesspool) NY
ogfarmer 138 Posted March 1, 2013 what happened to the buses of obamas droids to counter protest?

papercutninja 24 Posted March 1, 2013 what happened to the buses of obamas droids to counter protest? I think they caught wind that some of the SEIU members were going to protest as pro 2A and/or Pro2A people were registering for the buses.
JustJoe 0 Posted March 1, 2013 NY state troopers spokesperson " estimated the crowd at ‘‘5,000-plus,’’ http://bostonglobe.c...qvXO/story.html
millsan1 3 Posted March 1, 2013 Wow. This is great and sad at the same time. Great because of the number of people and that they came from all over the state. Sad because our process failed and the laws were rammed through. At least here in NJ we have several wonderful organizations that have helped us go and put on demonstrations, go to the public hearings, and visit lots of local events. I hope we don't get to the point where we have to put on a demonstration against the new bills when they become law.
