Gun Pictures question

Recommended Posts

Why do most people posting pictures of their guns put an object like a pen, or a shot gun shell through the trigger guard? Is it to demonstrate it couldn't have been fired at the time? Struck me as weird but so many people do it, i'm curious as to why.

Second question, i wanted to post pictures of my AR and my 1911 etc in the sections for showing those kinda of guns, but i am limited to only 500K in total upload size which got filled up by two photo attachments. How do i get more space, by joining and paying?

a) people put the pen in the trigger area to prop it up and put it at an angle so you can see it easier in the pic

b) use Image Shack and link the image in your post.. http://imageshack.us/ (its free).. and they give you a direct link to your uploaded image to post on forums..

Firstly...I had the same question not too long ago but It's to keep the gun at an angle for a better perspective and photo. and I now use Photobucket for my photos, free, easy to use and no fiddling with the size to post.

I use google picasa to upload a lot of my pics and just link the pics to the album.

And like DSD said, the pen/shell is just to prop the gun up. Personally I like to

use objects or methods that do not detract from the picture itself.
