Teky0101 6 Posted September 30, 2013 Hello, I was just wondering if anyone here owns a PSL-54C and if so did you customize your gun? Also what is the furthest distance you shot at with this rifle and was it accurate?
Krdshrk 3,877 Posted September 30, 2013 Only thing I've added is a PSO scope and a Blackhawk cheekpad. It's accurate enough but I've only really been using "broadside of a barn" type surplus ammo...
Clintoon Eastwood 2 Posted October 1, 2013 Why costumize a beautiful rifle? It's perfect the way it is. But I am getting a bipod mount from a guy that sold a bunch already on which you won't have to do any customization and ruin its original look and the value. Maksim 1,504 Posted October 1, 2013 With match loads, you should be able to squeeze out 1 MOA out to 300 yards. Keep in mind, it is not a dragunov, and was never designed for long range competition. It is essentially a stretched out AK platform. They are damn good rifles and I hope they come back to reality price wise. I miss mine.
Damjan 73 Posted October 1, 2013 Sold my PSL a few years ago. I m a lefty and it didn't go well for me. Should have put aftermarket stocks on it and kept it. Now i miss it. Maybe if they come down in price i ll own another one.
Maksim 1,504 Posted October 1, 2013 What are they now? Still over 1k?
Teky0101 6 Posted October 1, 2013 They are cool rifles! I am thinking about upgrading the scope to a higher magnification but I really like the POS Scope recital design. Does anyone have any recommendations? I would really enjoy shooting this rifle at more than 200 yards though.

Teky0101 6 Posted October 1, 2013 I was looking on Gunbroker last night and they were running between $900-$1,200 roughly. I am also curious about the BiPod if you would not mind could you let me know where to order one. Also if anyone has some advice my foreend started to crack a bit when can I do to repair it? Clintoon Eastwood 2 Posted October 2, 2013 I will let you guys know when I get it next week, he actually matches it to your wood as well. Teky, you can find the lower handguard available everywhere even on eBay. The lower handguard right?
StriderTB 10 Posted October 2, 2013 I'm a fan. From what I've read on the interwebs, the factory in Romania dismantled the tooling, and no longer manufactures parts for these, so whatever is out there in the market is it. They were steadily raising in price before the current buying frenzy, although they did come down a little bit from their peak. The only thing I'd like to do to mine is pick up a Rhinelands Arms replacement stock in walnut. Something with a proper length of pull would make shooting it a bit nicer. Teky0101 6 Posted October 2, 2013 There is a small crack in the upper handguard. I was wondering if there is a way to repair it?
Clintoon Eastwood 2 Posted October 2, 2013 Im thinking of picking up another set of wood for mine. I forgot the website that has the complete buttstock, lower and upper handguard for less than $50 brand new. If I find the website I will post it. But if you search psl handguard or psl wood im sure you can find it
Clintoon Eastwood 2 Posted March 4, 2014 This been a long time, but here are the pics of the mount
Teky0101 6 Posted March 4, 2014 Thank you for posting this! Where did you pickup the mount? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
Clintoon Eastwood 2 Posted March 4, 2014 from akfiles, let me see if i can dig up his email, i dont think he is on there as much anymore
Clintoon Eastwood 2 Posted March 4, 2014 i replaced the original lower handguard though, i want to keep everything thats original.. because for that mount, you need to cut a little piece off the wood at the bottom of the handguard to slide in a flat tiny bracket

Krdshrk 3,877 Posted March 4, 2014 That's interesting... Isn't it kinda close to the back? shouldn't it be more forward for better stability?
Fishpaw 17 Posted March 4, 2014 There have been some rumors of Zastava M91 rifles being available in the near future. They are similar but way more sought after than the PSL.
Clintoon Eastwood 2 Posted March 4, 2014 i didnt want to push on any part of the barrel, or you can go the expensive route versa pod bipod, $100 plus and drill the receiver, atleast the handguard is replaceable and cheap. this is the other route but the cheapest way is a shooters ridge mount through the vent at the bottom of the handguard
Teky0101 6 Posted March 4, 2014 Clintoon Eastwood,That is one nice looking PSL! Where did you get the hardguard that is really sharp! Also do you still know if they make the stocks in the synthetic? Thank you!
Clintoon Eastwood 2 Posted March 4, 2014 thats not mine, thats from akfiles, he gave me the option do it like his versapod, i believe that needs a some kind of conversion kit to use that handguard for both upper and lower. but the buttstock is just bolt on

Teky0101 6 Posted March 6, 2014 I was wondering if the Black Horse stocks are NJ legal since they are adjustable?
Firing Pin 0 Posted March 8, 2014 I was wondering if the Black Horse stocks are NJ legal since they are adjustable? I wouldn't risk it. That may count as two evil features- telescoping cheekrest and telescoping butt pad. lol
