Blowguns legal?

I was at a friend's house last night, and he showed me his blowgun:

He showed me one of his darts embedded into a rock...

 

I shot a dart at a dartboard with a tiny puff, and it went through the dartboard, through the cabinet, into the sheet rock and into the stud...

 

Are they legal in NJ?

If said Blowgun is capable of holding more than 15 darts, it would be classified as

an Assault Blowgun and consiquently  be banned in NJ.

I agree which is why I asked.  However, I have read the law that actually lists "slingshots" (a typo when it was supposed to be "slungshots" according to Nappen's book) but I don't see blowguns in that law...

I would say since the mechanics are different it isn't covered under NJ law and will be one of those gray areas.
