Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted March 12, 2014 Due to range conditions (8" of snow in each of the bays used for competitions) the March match has been cancelled. Next Easton match will be April 27th - assuming the snow is gone Easton's 2014 IDPA match schedule kicks off this month in a HUGE way. The first match of the year is the "Walt Jones Last Round Match". What the heck is that you may ask? Walt Jones is the sole author of the NEPA IDPA SCORES website, truly a labor of love for Walt. Visit it here... http://www.nepaidpascores.net/ You will find many links within the home page, so explore a little. Not quite sure of the story, but it has something to do with Walt attending a match and when all was said and done, he found he only had one round left. That incident is memorialized in the "Walt Jones Last Round Match". For those of you that complain that IDPA matches don't have enough stages, or high enough round count - this one is for you. Twelve (12) stages, each consisting of 18 rounds (18 is the highest per stage allowed in IDPA) for a total round count of 216 rounds minimum. Bring lots of ammo or you may find yourself suffering Walt's dilemma. All this for the regular match fee of $10 and no pre-registration required. Ken Ortbach and Dan Jensen are the match directors and Ken has a really twisted mind when it comes to stage design. New shooters must have proof of either taking an NRA course or being classified in a practical discipline (IDPA, USPSA, ICORE etc) - any questions as to whether you qualify or not should be directed to Ken at: [email protected] Registration starts at 10 AM with hammer down at 11 AM and these matches do start promply and you will need every available hour of daylight to complete this match (you will sleep well that night). And for those of you that can count to six, any match with 18 round stages is a revolver shooter's friend. LOL. See you there. Adios, Pizza Bob
Howard 538 Posted March 12, 2014 You just had to go spread the word didn't you Bob? Now there will be even more people and it will probably be dark when its over. Thanks for nothing
Kingsoverqueens 10 Posted March 12, 2014 I was actually considering shooting that event, but I signed up my son for the Hunter Safety course that day. Hell, we'll be halfway there...I may come if for no other reason than to raz Pizza Bob.
Mr.Stu 1,923 Posted March 12, 2014 Bob, Have you let Ken and Dan know that you're drumming up shooters? Its just as well that there were a whole bunch of new SO's made a couple of weeks ago.

Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted March 12, 2014 Hey, we can always point the cars down range and shoot with the headlights. The more the merrier, I say. Oh, and Ken: SURPRISE!!!
Mr.Stu 1,923 Posted March 12, 2014 But if they are all wheel gunners like you we'll be there until Tuesday!
Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted March 12, 2014 But if they are all wheel gunners like you we'll be there until Tuesday! Glad you put the qualifier "like you" in there, otherwise you would be maligning all wheelgunners. As it is, you could be correct.
Russell 3 Posted March 14, 2014 I'm going to try to make it. Realistically how late is this match likely to run? It's been at least a year since I shot a match at EFGA; IIRC the matches usually run until about 4:00. So maybe this will be done by 5:00? Or a lot later? Howard 538 Posted March 14, 2014 No clue, but I'll bring my night vision goggles just in case
Mr.Stu 1,923 Posted March 14, 2014 It was after 6 when we finished clearing down last year. If I remember correctly shooting was done with around 5:15.
