Rob0115 1,105 Posted February 22, 2016 I was watching John Wick, which is set in NYC. How can the movie company have and handle firearms not permitted by law in NYC? I know they need permits and probably pay a boatload but that gives them permits to use firearms expressly forbidden in the SAFE act? I guess money really does speak. I would think those liberal douche wagons wouldn't want to make money from movies and television that feature gun violence. Especially those that feature firearms that aren't legal there. It just seems ironic. Now I understand the characters have no issue breaking laws but the state is allowing the movie companies who pay them privileges not allowed to their citizens--who pay them and their supposed to represent. Maksim 1,504 Posted February 22, 2016 Who is to say they are real guns?
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted February 22, 2016 That's because they're not firearms - they're movie props. It's all licensed and kept track of - they don't walk off the sets. I remember seeing an article about it. http://www.businessinsider.com/the-specialists-rick-washburn-weapons-manufacturers-props-new-york-city-guns-bombs-2011-12?op=

Rob0115 1,105 Posted February 22, 2016 Cool article--thanks How are they not firearms?. Is that just some loophole? I would guess the firm in the article is an FFL and is allowed to have all those "illegal" weapons? It's say they are fitted to fire blanks but how hard would that be to fix? In John Wick he was using, what looked like, HK P30s with suppress ore that looked exactit like the slides. Very cool and I wouldn't mind getting one for my P30. Definitely blocked barrels - they're converted to fire blanks only - barrels blocked, some internal changes made to let the guns cycle with such low powered loads. Making them move and flash without being super loud....
Rob0115 1,105 Posted February 22, 2016 Ok but firing blanks fed from high capacity magazines? So if you block the barrel it's no longer considered a firearm? I'm getting a real lesson here. It a-pears that compensator was custom in the P30L. I maybe SOL.
45Doll 5,881 Posted February 22, 2016 Ok but firing blanks fed from high capacity magazines? Just ask David Gregory. Laws are for little people.

quickkill730 3 Posted February 22, 2016 All the weapons used in John wick were airsoft. Which is pretty impressive. They did a great job at making them feel real. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Wow they really did. This lists out everything used except the SBR (Coharie 416 clone bolt said HK on it) http://www.tacticalshit.com/guns-of-john-wick/ That's a lot of air soft models. However, John Wick is just one example because I saw it this morning.
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted February 22, 2016 IMFDB is a better source: http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/John_Wick And I doubt all of the guns in John Wick were Airsoft. There's no Airsoft version of the KSG.
