2 pointsIt's actually worse that you not knowing every car. To be a fair comparison, it would have to be a guy in your profession who doesn't know how to drive. Cops don't have to study gun laws like we do, because they are exempt from nearly all of them, and would most likely benefit from professional courtesy for anything but the most egregious offences. As an example, when all my guns were in gunsitters during my divorce, a LEO friend offered to loan me a pistol for a match. He wasn't going to be able to attend so said to just drop by a day or two before and pick it up. Er, yeah, no. I can't do that.

1 pointThis could be BIG for us in NJ. The Mag capacity limit is obviously a useless bit of legislation on its face, but what it does do is limit the number of online resellers who will ship to us. I just spent 3 hours pricing guns online and the one that I want I can't find unless I am willing to pay $130+ more for it than it's being sold for on a dozen other sites. All of who will not ship to NJ. I am assuming these stores just fear any hassle due to the laws here? Is that out of ignorance I wonder. It's almost as ridiculous as the law itself. I wonder how much money they are losing by not shipping to us and the other 6 or 7 states they ban. My FFL dealer will accept mags over 10 rounds, they just automatically pin them to make them compliant and then tack $15 for each one onto my bill. I'm happy to pay it. That's cheap IMO. I've purchased multiple handguns online with and without magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. It's not a problem. Just take my money, send it to my FF licensed gun dealers store and we will take it from there there. It drives me nuts. These laws do achieve one goal and that is to prevent people who don't have a lot of money from buying a gun.

1 pointWhy? Why? Why? Is there anyone looking into this? When the rest of the country is instant, why is NJ so behind on checks? No covid excuses. No lack of employee excuses. No increase of first time purchaser excuses.

1 pointHi , I didn't read all the post but also consider fractional gold 1/10 1/4 oz etc buy when on sale as the premiums are high. most folks may not have the 5k per oz in whatever funny money is issued but they maybe can swing a 1/10 or 1/4 oz worth of. In my opinion PMs are a part of a plan to safeguard your assets not the whole plan. They work in a rebuilding society where their is social structure, Nobody will want metal for food in a mad max scene but at that point you have bigger fish to fry anyway. Maybe trade for land equipment etc. In venezuala 1 oz of silver bought food for a while , that society spiraled the toilet but didn't crash into dust, the ones with the PMs had a leg up in putting their lives back together quicker. just my 2 cents.

1 pointI'm keeping a lot more cash in small denominations ($20 max) around. If Russian-sponsored actors take down a major credit card network things could get "awkward" for a bit.

1 pointWould be surprised if this guy gets re-elected. Wait, on second thought we did get Murphy again. Amazing what happens in the wee small hours of the morning.

1 pointMY GREAT WEEKEND! A balding, white haired man from Sherman Oaks in California , walked into a jewelry store in a local mall this past Friday evening with a beautiful much younger gal at his side. He told the jeweler he was looking for a special ring for his girlfriend. The jeweler looked through his stock and brought out a $5,000 ring. The man said, 'No, I'd like to see something more special.' At that statement, the jeweler went to his special stock and brought another ring over. 'Here's a stunning ring at only $40,000' the jeweler said. The lady's eyes sparkled and her whole body trembled with excitement. The old man seeing this said, 'We'll take it.' The jeweler asked how payment would be made and the man stated, 'by check. I know you need to make sure my check is good, so I'll write it now and you can call the bank Monday to verify the funds and I'll pick up the ring Monday afternoon.' On Monday morning, the jeweler angrily phoned the old man and said 'There was only $25 in your account.' 'I know, said the old man, 'But let me tell you about MY GREAT WEEKEND!'

1 pointI thought that was the other way around.... everything here is illegal.....unless there is decreed making an exception allowing it.

1 pointWe'll see about the monetary crisis, but the point of silver or gold is as an inflation hedge. You don't trade it to your neighbor. You buy things with cash. You just use the PMs to get more cash than that crap you have in the bank that trades 1:1 with the current garbage value of cash (at the time of said hypothetical crisis). Push the crisis a bit farther, and it is something to flee with to someplace else where you can turn it into the local coin without people laughing in your face. Beyond that for the mad max situation (well mad max would probably be the above, it's more like road warrior and on level here), it's going to be fairly useless for trade. In that case silver is probably the more useful metal to have in possession practically speaking.
