Dems Reach New Agreement on NJ Gas Tax Hike
leadunderpressure replied to Sig226GuyNJ's topic in General Discussion
http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2016/01/the-decline-of-the-drivers-license/425169/ Here's a more recent article on the falling number of people getting licenses. 10x showed the trends only until 2014. Which trend will overall take hold? Who knows? I do know that NJ won't stop looking for more ways to pick my pocket. -
Dems Reach New Agreement on NJ Gas Tax Hike
leadunderpressure replied to Sig226GuyNJ's topic in General Discussion
FYI. The number of drivers of personal vehicles is going down particularly among the younger crowd. Combine this with more effecient automobiles, I suspect that a gas tax won't be enough soon and we'll be doing this nonsense again. Who wants to bet that the next suggestion from our benevolent dictators is that we all install a box in our cars and pay per mile driven on the government roads? WTF can't we have private roads since NJ sucks at maintaining the public ones? -
+1 on that. The Hamilton Fish Newburg Beacon bridge is still only $1.50 too versus $5 for the Tapan Zee. You get those 11 miles back in cash. I84 is a much nicer ride until you hit Waterbury.

Anybody using Selective Insurance? They're currently working to expand their personal insurance foot print right now. (They currently do mostly commercial.) I'd think that agents would be looking to deal right now. (Full disclosure. I work there.) -

If you have more than one gun, then you have a collection and are a collector. Make the stupid law work for you. -

That's a billboard that needs to be all over NJ with heavy density in Camden, Newark and Trenton. -
The number of people on the nonfly list is relatively small at this time. The issue is how you prove that you don't belong on it.

That's up to the range. I never said either training was complete by any means. Just offered two ranges where some level was required that I didn't take issue with. Another example, on paper you have to take hunter safety class to get a hunting license and shoot at the state range. In practice not so much.
-
On the range training issue, I've personally been to ranges that you had to pass a written test on gun safety before being allowed to shoot. Cherry Ridge requires you attend a safety lecture to get a membership to shoot at their range. I'm ok with all of that. What I take issue is handing the government of NJ means to create additional barriers to gun OWNERSHIP. Being at a private range it's no problem for me to prove that I'm not a danger to the guy or gal shooting next to me.

Want to reveal where? -
My method is to go to my local PD, get fingerprinted and then they usually have a notary on staff. Next stop is the post office for mailing. YMMV.
-
Any LEO can take your fingerprints. Some will do it for free. Notary fee is usually a couple bucks.
